State Of The Union 2024

@volfanhill ....

I told you last month that Rasmussen Reports was a faulty poll, which leaned too heavily to the right. FiveThirtyEight has now dropped them, with Real Clear Politics likely to follow suit in the near future. That is a garbage poll, which was wrong all over the place in 2022.

To be clear, I do trust most polls .... just not this one or the online Harris polls.

Hey now. Don't you dare detract the success of our POTUS speaking in complete sentences last night! What a triumph
LG is ridiculous.

What would LGs headline be had Trump or any other Republican for that matter did this?

“Headed for a Holy War! Trump attacks the PM of Israel’s faith”.

And yeah. Biden’s SOTU had me missing Obama! At least he inspired me when he was lying. Last night we just got yelled at by our pissed off Grandpa!

BREAKING: Joe Biden’s wild economic claims during his State of the Union address were fact-checked six times by The New York Times.

1. “15 million new jobs in just three years — a record,” Biden claimed.
• The Times ruled the claim needed context because the job gains “were beginning to return” before Biden came to office from the huge losses during the pandemic.

2. “My policies have attracted $650 billion in private sector investment, in clean energy, advanced manufacturing, creating tens of thousands of jobs here in America!”
• The Times ruled Biden’s statement lacked context and Biden calculated $650 billion based on “public announcements of investments — not necessarily dollars spent — across industries targeted by Mr. Biden’s legislative accomplishments.”

3. “I am cutting our carbon emissions in half by 2030.”
• The Times determined that Biden’s statement lacked context and Biden confused his goal of cutting emissions in half with what his actual policies would cut.

4. “We’ve already cut the federal deficit over a trillion dollars.”
•The Times ruled Biden’s claim needed context:
Under Mr. Biden’s watch, the federal deficit dropped to $1.4 trillion in fiscal year 2022 from $3.1 trillion in fiscal year 2021 — but much of that reduction was attributed to the expiration of coronavirus relief spending. The deficit then rose in 2023, to about $1.7 trillion. The deficit remains higher than it was before the coronavirus pandemic.

5. “You know, there are 1,000 billionaires in America. You know what the average federal tax is for these billionaires? They are making great sacrifices: 8.2 percent. That’s far less than the vast majority of Americans’ pay.”
•The Times reported Biden’s claim did not “technically” reflect the current tax rate.

6. “Many of my friends on the other side of the aisle want to put Social Security on the chopping block.”
•“Republicans are not currently calling for cuts to Social Security,” the Times said. Former President Trump, in fact, said in 2022 that he would never cut Social Security.

Wild economic claims?

It looks as if they are simply saying his claims needed more context.

A case where the sensationalized headline doesn't match the actual findings.

Notice how differently Republicans and Dems get fact checked by the MSM.

Democrat fact checked: “Well. Technically this needs context”.

Republican fact checked: “This is a flat out lie and the representative that made the statement is a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, d***less, hopeless, heartless, fat-a**, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey sh**!”

Just like Biden proclaiming his macro economic achievements and the disconnect with people’s daily lives. Best just to answer Reagan’s question..are you better off now then you were 4 years ago? Resoundingly the answer is No.

Sure. I am. My kids are.

Biden said the vaccine that saved us from Covid is now being used to beat cancer.

That is 100% false. OTOH Trump never said people should inject bleach.

Posting a study to prove Biden is right when it in fact shows he's wrong is dumbassery.

You keep going on these rants full of BS, and then when I point out things like the fact that “Rhodes Scholar” is something no one said but you, you’re already gone lol. Work on your attention span please

I bet you spend lots of time trying to get people to pay attention to you. Nobody with a modicum of common sense, or the moral compass above "petty thief" is gonna give you the time of day.

So Trump gets credit for pushing the science along to provide safe vaccines for Covid and to cure cancer. When will you give him/his admin credit?

I have. I think Trump did the right thing in ignoring the loons and, while he publicly chastised the scientific community, in policy matters he did what he was told.

Good, fun stuff from the Right. Thanks.

In diversification, we learn.
I learned today that the left is very excited that Biden spoke in complete sentences during his speech. That's not my take away. It's an actual poster in here. Amazing the bar. Right @turbovol . You were so excited about those completed sentences

What a load of crap.

Well ..technically thats not correct. Translation: this is complete BS and anyone with Google can show that in 10secs. We cant believe he even tried to claim this obvious lie.

Bidens claim needed context.
Translation: if you include a bunch of obviously BS numbers he never mentioned...and pretend that government, budgets, money and lies never existed before covid...you might be able to trick a 9yo into believing this.

Bidens statement LACKED context (gotta use synonyms for "needed" because there was so much BS they didnt want to repeat that over and over...lest someone actually think he was FOS. Which he is.
Translation: the figures he made up were pulled straight out of thin air. If we looked hard enough though, we might be able to find enough claims by his cronies that were eventually gonna actually spend this much money....on something. Somewhere. Maybe.

Let Trump or any other Republican miss a tiny detail in what they say though....or NOT such as the bleach injections etc...and these same clowns will call them the worst things their tiny little liberal arts brains can think of. They will sensationalize every hitpiece making obviously false claims in big bold print on the front page...and IF sufficiently threatened with lawyers for suits about the slander/libel etc will issue a tiny correction on the backpage of the classifieds section weeks later. At best. Its a damn joke.

Sadly, the overwhelming majority of newspapers in markets where anyone actually lives are owned by very liberal companies like the NY times, Boston Globe etc. Fortunately most liberal voters these days read and write at about a 2nd grade level and never willingly. See: all the ignorant, detached from reality comments in this very forum and thread. Unfortunately liberals own all the main stream TV stations as well, but broadcast television is a dinosaur thats long of tooth and its days are thankfully numbered.

Kids arent blind or stupid libs. At least in our area, theres a healthy % of young people that are disgusted by what has been done to this country. They have seen the decline in their lifetimes. I have a son who is 22 and a daughter soon 16. They have had exactly 4 years of sane leadership in this country in their lifetimes that they can remember. Under Trump. The rest as been the Barry and Sloppy Joe sheitshows and marked by riots, racial strife, unnecessary wars, school shootings, rampant theft drug use and death etc. They want NO PART of any of that leftist BS. These are kids. The age group when humans are "supposed" to be more liberal...before they figure out how the world actually works and become Conservatives. Yet there is a sizable portion that are ALREADY too wise to want your morally bankrupt policies and further destruction of our nation. They are what gives me hope. This country is at BY FAR the lowest point it has been since the Civil War. Even kids know who is responsible for wrecking their country. They know who has been in charge for 12 out of the last 16 years. Good luck with that Dimwits.

Get out the violins! I almost shed a tear reading your apocalyptic cri de coeur. You lost a LOT of credibility with the words "four years of sane leadership under trump." It was then I knew that you were probably dropped on your head at a very young age.....

I'd never heard the term "fundy baby voice," but a lot of people have said that was the voice Britt was using. Apparently,
that's some 18th century christian fundamentalist thing--the voice a christian housewife uses after he husband has smacked her
for not putting enough meatballs in the spaghetti.

All you can do is insult trump, or Christianity apparently 🤣. It must be sad, that Trump beating Hillary has done this to you. I fear for your well being if he beats Biden 🤣. Ftr, I wish they could both lose, but I'm not obsessed with either.

Posting directed at me and then running away because you have the attention span of a gnat, resulting in you continuing to get things wrong after I've told you like 5 times, is not me wanting attention lol it's you. Have a discussion or don't, stop doing drive-by BS like a coward
