Stephanie Mavunga

Mavunga is on the roster for the Pan-Am games with Coates and Mitchell from South Carolina. What do you think they will be discussing off of the court?

They don't have any scholarships left. They can discuss all they want.

That can change from one moment to the next. Players get run off all the time now at certain schools. NC did it to make room for the girls who are leaving now. I don't know if SC has done it before.

With their lineup of post players I don't see her wanting to go there. It certainly could happen, but we would almost certainly see a post want to transfer out.

Can't say much because the information is "subscribed", but it is unlikely that Muvunga will enroll at Tennessee. It is being said she will most likely land at a BIG 10 school or yet another one of our SEC rivals that I can't stand! All I know if we don't land a post this class, SC will be the favorites in the SEC for the next few seasons.

Boooo. Not the news i wanted to hear. Hope we dont lose another recruit to Kentucky 😒😔😳
Hopefully Diamond can get Stephanie to change her mind. She would be a great addition to the squad. If Hatchell doesn't block her from coming to Tennessee i think CHW needs to do everything to get her here...ugh. Fingers still crossed

I don't think it will be the SEC school.

Do you think she was blocked also? Its hard for me to believe that there were no interest between Tennessee and Muvunga. Unless Tennessee has a good feeling they will land a post out of this class or have a silent verbal from a post already. It just seems like Tennessee would of been a possible destination. Anyways we can't afford to strike out in this recruiting class because the battle for the SEC crown will be very tough. SC and UK will be very good the next few seasons.

She's home right now here in Indianapolis. Family is huge for her as she has younger and older brothers and they are all close. Not much real information being put out there on the web. Has a brother that plays collegiality somewhere in Ohio, what sport or school, not sure. I think this time around, I'm feeling she might choose family over friends.
Still would love to have her in Orange.

I don't think she was blocked, but I do think other circumstances might have prevented her from coming to Tennessee.

For some reason Im not as optimistic about landing any top post from 2016. Its just a gut feeling, and I hope I'm wrong. From what I'm hearing we have more pull in the class of 2017 with KK and Booth. We'll see, I'm hoping Cox sees how much of a need we're in for a TOP post player

These rules about player transfers remind me of that episode of South Park where Cartman is the league owner of the crack babies. It's not slavery, but damn if there ain't similarities ... IMO, a player should be able to transfer to ANY school they want, in conference or out and only have to sit out a year max. Because, well, free country. The idea that a coach could block a student's school and SECRETLY block it is something from the 1800's.

UK doesn't scare me in the slightest. It's going to be UT and USC--everyone else is playing for left overs.

UK has some good pieces also. The Oregon transfer that will be eligible this season at UK is said to be the real deal. The JC post will be good, they return their point guard and their leading scorer who almost led them to a victory over us in Lexington. I wouldn't sleep on them. They gave SC their only conference victory last season and I think they will be better than they were last season.
