Im no AD but I dont think rolling the dice again is the right move... Doing the same thing over and over and expectong a different result is insanity...

I don't conduct coaching searches... I dont know what kind of coach our insanely wealthy boosters and AD could raise up enough money to go after...

IMO untill our university is ready to shell out the cash and get a proven home run out of the park coach, we better be willing to enjoy feeding off the bottom and settling for backing our way into a SECC game once every decade...

If Gruden wanted the job and Hart had a realistic chance of hiring him, the guys who make the decisions (boosters) would have made it happen with or without Hart's approval. Simple fact is Gruden prefers the NFL. We should support the guy who wants to be here.

Stoops is not leaving OU for UT nor is Peterson or Patterson. They are all very comfortable at their schools and with the programs they established.

Gundy is not leaving his alma mater and Petrino and Davis are risky hires. You don't see Auburn and Arky giving those two interviews.

I would like to see Tressel and Shannon get interviews and there are some other coaches like Art Briles who could be interviewed. Simple fact is Charlie Strong is qualified and has spent the majority of his career coaching in the SEC. He is fairly young and will not leave UT for his Alma Mater, Central Arkansas.

Strong is a solid hire that we all need to support. He is better qualified than Dooley and several SEC coaches. He is not Saban but what coach is on the college level who would come to Tennesssee.

I am tired of a divided fan base. It started with the decline of Fulmer and continued through Kiffen and Dooley. Lets give the guy a chance and see what happens. Lets see what coaches he hires and what recruits he signs before bashing the guy.

We're gonna suck next year regardless. I can't wait to see how many irrational people are calling for Strong's head next year. Sadly, we're behind the 8 ball again. I see a repeat of 2010 on the horizon. Give the guy a chance.

We gave an unproven Lane Kiffin a chance and he burned us.....

We gave an unproven Derek Dooley a chance and he scorched us.....

We gave an unproven Charlie Strong a chance and he.....

Well that's the problem and why some of us don't want him.....been thru it twice

The sounding board of what teams need to win in the SEC is defense. Strong as a coordinator and HC has brought very good defenses to the table for Florida and Louisville. There is no reason to believe he wouldn't build a very formidable defense at UT. With merely a competent DC and average defense this season, UT is likely 8-4 and headed to a bowl.

An offense can be built. A good OC can be hired. Four starters return to what was an excellent offensive line. Bray and Hunter have not declared for the draft yet.

Yea, I was a Gruden advocate. It didn't happen. So, oh well. Jon Gruden is not bigger than this program. If Charlie Strong or Gundy or Fedora get hired, I'll back any one of them completely until evidence suggests they are not up for the job. I hold no belief that he - or anyone else for that matter - will come in and go 12-0 next season.

Charlie Strong has something to prove. That makes me like him and feel he's got the fire inside. JMO.

I think I asked a question you had to revert back to his dc career to answer and go on about how he one enough games to get into a bcs game in that crap BE he coaches in...

Big 10 is about as weak as the Big East

Got a point there. I think Hart may be overlooking him because he thinks he'll bring most of his staff with him...having little to no ties to the South eastern part of the country in recruiting.

I think that's a concern, but not enough to overlook his long record of success and coaching above his talent level.
