Yep, not sure exactly what I can write since Rivals is a pay website and I know they're strict about giving out that info... But let's just say Boyd does not have a scholarship offer anymore from Tennessee.

I'm honestly not too worried about this. I know Boyd is a 4-star, but what do rankings really matter? Crompton was a 4-star too... Now, obviously, a 4-star is going to give you a better chance at becoming a good player than a 2-star, but nothing is guaranteed. People get too wrapped up in rankings. I'll say this: From watching a couple of his highlight videos, Boyd did not look impressive at all. He didn't look fast and his throws were "completeable" by most good high school QBs. There was never that play that made me go "wow."

Ainge was a basket case after 2005. A coaching change made a world's worth of difference. UT's OL was nowhere near what any of us thought... even those who didn't think they wer all that good. There's few if any QB's in CFB that could have been successful behind that OL with an inconsistent running game and almost immediate pressure on every throw.

KNS says Kiffin told Boyd he would not be happy in his pro-style offense. Kiffin knows more than I do on evaluating these things so I'm sure he's got a plan for a qb.

According to VQ Kiffin told Boyd that he had a spot on the team and that Boyd would be an amazing athlete, but was up front with him that he may not be the best fit for his offense.

what is kiffin up to...? i mean i understand that boyd probably doesn't fit coach kiffin's style of offense, but why would he just get rid of him? i think he has something up his sleeve...

He didn't just "get rid" of him. He told Boyd upfront he probably wouldn't be a good fit for his offense. It's called being honest to your recruits. Boyd decommitted on his own, they didn't shove him out the door.

Not sure about that. I've heard that Kiffin pulled his scholarship offer..

The "bring on Barkley!" was a joke but you obviously have trouble seeing that. However the "It sounds as if Kiffin has someone in mind" part was serious.

I got that off the Volquest board posted directly from Brent Hubbs. Kiffin said he had a spot for him 100% but warned him that his offense didn't fit his playstyle too well.

This isn't create a recruit on NCAA 09. You can't pull a kid out of your butt this close to signing day.

If you get a chance, google Brett Favre's HS stats... they were horrible too. That's how he ended up at USM instead of somewhere bigger.

Just because a kid plays on a really bad team doesn't mean he won't succeed in college. I'm not predicting anything... just saying it isn't smart to just write a kid off based on HS stats.

Haha, this isn't Nascar. If it was though i would sure take him. Yeah Bryce Petty is a pro style QB and should fit CLK system. However, my only concern is if he's good enough to get the job done.

Well then you have to believe that CLK has an ace up his sleeve. What it is, only time will tell. Be patient. I have a gut feeling everything is going to fall in place.
