Having grown up in the Hampton Roads area I will speak for the volunteer nation and say we don't want him here.
He's an earring wearing, me first, screw everyone else person. Let him take his skills somewhere else and land in their jails.
Adios to the Michael Vick clone.

This new dude better be dam good at developing QBS. Why would you do this? It isn't like we got mad depth at QB or a situation like UGA or USC. Tajh Boyd is a legit QB and would've benefited this team. Now everytime TB has a good game, there will be a story to tell how UT didn't want him and look at him now. Heard that one before. We will land someone else besides Petty, we got to have another option in case he doesn't pan out even if its a 3 star. Giles dissed us too, and he loves the whole freaking staff. I'm still on the wagon, but we need some good news during recruting.

I think Lane assessed his IQ in a meeting and said no thanks, he's not smart enough to run my offense.

You do this because it's the forthright and honorable thing to do. If you don't think that a guy's a good fit for your system, you talk to him about it up front and let him make up his own mind. It's not fair to the kid to do anything else.

I love how anything other than a pro-style offense is a gimmick. That's just nuts! These dual threat systems work! Florida will win another title using a gimmick system. West Virginia and GT handily beat Georgia with their gimmick systems. Ask OSU if they like TT's system....

Did you draw this from personal experiences with him or from the fact he lives in Hampton Roads? I can't tell from your post.

Sure teams have won in the past and will win in the future with gimmick offenses, it usually works until the the recruits realize the entire backfield of the team never plays on Sunday, then they start committing elsewhere

How do you know he would have fit lane's system? Just let our coach get who he wants. You've got to trust him!

I can't help but think how differently the tone would be on this board if Fulmer was still coach and he had lost Tajh... Keep building Lane up guys, want to make sure he gets as high as possible when we all start knocking him down here in five years or so....

Of course we can, and if he wants to come to UT as an athlete the door is wide open for him, but CLK is being honest with him. If he wants to play QB, it's probably not going to happen

Not sure what that means, but I'm just telling you like I see it. I've watched a lot of game film, etc. over the years, and obviously, there's a reason this guy is so highly ranked, but his Rivals videos just weren't that great.

Boyd will not be a big loss. I honestly trust Kiffin's evaluation skills over the previous staff's.
