Tajh Boyd

What will we do now that Taj appears to have decommitted? (per KNS)

Pack up and quit. The sky is falling right? Dont you think that CLK has a plan. Word is that he wanted to move in a different direction in terms of qb. He will have someone he wants in here.

It's official...Tahj Boyd is GOING to DECOMMITT from TENN after new staff express a desire for a different style QB! A source very close to the situation has confirmed.............

A source close to Boyd’s recruitment told the News Sentinel that Boyd pulled back his commitment when Kiffin warned him that he might not be happy with UT’s pro-style offensive system.
Boyd, a 6-foot, 210-pound quarterback from Phoebus High School in Hampton, Va., is rated the No. 3 dual-threat quarterback in the nation. Kiffin’s system traditionally has featured a pocket passer, such as former Southern California quarterbacks Matt Leinart and Carson Palmer.

He didn't force him out the door. Kiffin warned him about what he was bringing to the table, Boyd reacted. I think it shows what kind of guy Kiffin is for one, he won't sit their and lie just so we can say we have a top QB out of highschool on the roster.

I don't want to be part of Clawson's lynch mob either. I think he's very bright, but just showed up in Knoxville at the wrong time.

However, with Cut, it's also worth noting his 'respectable' QB had a 2005 season that looked more like Crompton's 2008 season than any I can recall.

No, I don't think that he showed up at the wrong time. The fact that he showed up at all was a mistake.

In my opinion, I believe that both Phil & Clawson assumed early that they had till next year to figure this thing out.

After the Bama game I thought maybe Clawson would be fired but thought they were AOK when Boyd was announced. I was like there we go.. This system attracts top duel threat qbs. We'll be fine.

And that's why Boyd was so exciting. Because the G-Gun was a joke without throwing. It was like this whole year the offense was showing potential dual threat qbs what they would be able to do in the now old system.

Kiffin definately won't be running the G-gun or anything close so Boyd doesn't look nearly as exciting as he did before K came along.

I just hope that K doesn't make the same assumptions that Fulmer and Clawson made about having more time.
