Tajh Boyd

Well comparing Vince Young to Vick in the first place is stupid as they are very different players. Vick doesn't play anything like Young. Young and Boyd's 40 times are both about half a second slower than Vick, 4.6 and 4.7 respectively. About the only thing Young, Vick, and Boyd have in common is they are black quarterbacks.

Vince Young had over 3000 yards passing his junior year, all he did was run? Did you ever watch him play?

There's no "I" in team, but there's 4 in "idiot quoting cliches"

All they did was RUN the football, and thats it. Heck Young couldn't even throw the football right.Every time he threw it, his release was side armed. I don't even need to continue about Vick, everyone knows all that he's good for. Boyd will just be another Young or Vick who believes there is an "I" in team.

Gee and all this time I thought he threw for over 3000 yards his junior year.

This is all i'm going to say

If we have horrible QB problems again next year, and we dont get boyd because of what Kiffin told him, then there will be plenty of pissed off fans including me..

Boyd wants to be in a pro style.. he's rated the #3 passer accuracy in the nation..
what more does Kiffin want.. And Boyd's athleticism can only help him out in desperate situations.

I really dont understand what Kiffin is doing telling him this.. Especially since this past year was the worst QB play in the history of UT..

he better know something that we all dont know.. because all the other top QB's have committed elsewhere.. and are SOLID.

Boyd was the most important commit IMO

What's crazy talk is thinking that Crompton, or any returning QB, will lead us to success next year.

No one was arguing that, but if they were its not that far fetched. Good coaching, a scheme that fits, and a good running game will go a long way to make a QB look not-so-bad.

And Boyd isn't even done with his HS season. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that you have never seen him play. Why would you assume what kind of QB he is, much less what kind of person he is?

Take a deep breathe,,,, Relax! Times are changing ladies and gentlemen.

These commitments were recruited by the staff that is
history. Did you want Kiffin to say you have a scholarship and the old staff loved you , so we are keeping you.

1. Best players will play regardless of class.
2. Best athletes on special teams equals good results.
3. Speed ,Speed and more Speed is coming.
4. Physical play or go find another school.
5. Keep your a----- out of trouble or see you.
6. Play 10 yards off the receivers, Chavis needs you.
7. Learn discipline and play consistent mistake free football.
8. Oh yea, CHAMPIONSHIPS are coming! Stay Tuned!

My guess is that he saw that Dual Threat under his name and told him that he would not be utilized best in this offense.

Ainge had shown flashes though and Crompton hasn't.

Yes he has. Ainge didn't throw a ball as good as the one JC threw to Moore in his whole college career.

If just one of the QB's had failed or even two of them then you could lay it at their feet. The fact that one of them could do anything... and all looked similar... suggests at least a big part of the problem was outside of their control.

BTW, though I've argued against those who just write JC off, I doubt Kiffin will start with him considering he only has one season left. All things being somewhat even, I expect him to go with the younger guys.

not true

Cutcliffe, the QB guru that he is, was very high on Coleman. With a little coaching from an NFL QB coach(if Bates rumors are true)and he could possibly be our QB.

with the scholys we have left it doesn't make any sense to only get 1 QB. We know from last season that our priorities are OL/DL, DE, and QB. These are musts for this year. One QB just doesn't cut it for this recruiting class.

I just don't get this. Many dual threat QB's operate in a pro style offense. It just doesn't make any sense that Kiffin doesn't want Boyd.

All I can say is WOW... Tajh is not 6'4 like Kiffin wants, but good luck with JC BC NS this spring! Not only is Tajh a great QB he is one heck of a person! Losing him like this is awful, but if Kiffin told him the truth that he is not what he wants in a QB then so be it. Tajh will move on, but he was looking forward to being a VOL!!! Also, Tajh is a duel threat QB- meaning he can run a little, but he is a true passing QB. One hell of an arm and a great leader! You can see him play this weekend in Blacksburg if any of you live near Va Tech because Phoebus is playing for the State Title on Saturday. We will see what happens now with signing a QB.
