Tennessee Lady Vol News

Exhibition games mean nothing as far as won/loss, as coaches don't care whether they win or lose. The purpose is to evaluate talent, play the freshmen, play different combinations, four Bigs, four guards, any and all combos that the coach can think of. These games give the players an opportunity to play against someone other than their practice players. You really can't judge a team by the first, or even the second practice game. Freshmen and portal players all need to get used to playing with each other, so with each and every game they play they will get better. I guarantee that SC and LSU will look much better when the SEC season starts, and I also include Tennessee in that statement.

Should be fun!
I read a new write-up from ESPNW.
They know Tennessee has ballers on top of ballers on Rocky Top!

This one? I put in another thread. Great pic of Jewel, and good write up about SEC teams TN, SC, and LSU battle.

Go look up the rosters from 2014-2020, and compare player for player and get back to me.
No need. I basically no who was on which team, the players being kicked off the team for actions unbecoming of being a lady vol, a lot of individuals who wanted to portray themselves as better than they really were and a coach that just flat out refused to put players in position to be successful. Very little player development on those teams. Players just didn't seem to improve. Those teams were spiraling. Don't care how much talent a team has if their minds are not right. Holly teams with as much raw talent as they had, just were very undisciplined and continuously underachieved.

the discussion was about talented teams, so I was saying those rosters were not, and we have no idea how this roster will perform

The 2014-2015 roster for example finished tied for the regular season title and made the elite eight. So the point was to compare rosters and talent and that’s what I did. Those teams had more talent too to bottom.

I’d prefer the best case scenario! 😂 Although our last championship was in 2008 and the site was Tampa! 🥴

It could be somewhere in between although I don't think turnovers are going to be a problem unless players that haven't been turnover prone suddenly become that way. One seed might be tough unless we win the conference which I believe we can. Not much difference between a two and three need to stay away from the dreaded four or lower.

The CN game will be fun to watch, I don’t expect to learn a whole lot about this LV team from that game except maybe I’ll be looking for chemistry between certain backcourt and front court players. The game that I will be glued to is the one vs Team USA……because I expect the LV’s to actually be very competitive in that game and I want to see what their rotations look like as well as how the team defends against an obviously great opponent. I have no doubt that on offense RJ will shine in that game, but it will be interesting to see which other players contribute the most on offense because that may be a key insight into who the LV’s will be able to count on in the tough games during the season.

I think it’s awesome to say the least that UT is playing Team USA, and I hope they do well in that game.

90 minutes until tip off, gl LV fans, not that you will need any, but no injuries and obviously hope everyone plays well. I’m gonna watch Wells play closely, pretty sure she will be as advertised.
