The Andrew Wiggins Sweepstakes

I've looked all through that Twitter feed and can't find the tweet you've quoted. He must have taken it down.

Only question is if he got bad info or if he just released too early.

EDIT: I'm saying bad info. Wiggins tweeted this:

@22wiggins 2h
Lol if you ain't in my family you know nothing about my recruitment , lol stop with the rumors
Hmm yeah he must have deleted. I guess he didn't want it out. Think this might have pissed him off lol.

Be careful how you say that. Chances are he will only verbally commit when he announces, not "sign." We wouldn't want BTNO to have a panic attack.

Maybe I should have said..."until he puts on the baseball hat of his choice instead.."

Hope we get him but we're great without him

I concur.

How did Willis make this team?

He at one time was actually ranked in the top 75 on one of the two big recruiting sites. Then if I recall he had some bad AAU showings and dropped completely out a few months after committing to UK.

Louisville was after him as well, being a Louisville kid. Cal probably took on board for no other reason than that, truth be told.

I could see Willis or Hawkins not enjoying riding the bench and end up transferring. It's nice to have success on a team, but so much sweeter when you played a bigger role than simply bench warming.

Desperately is strong. Imo. Of course you want the best player in the country, but Mcdonald pre injury was the best shooter on the team. As far as being a legit title contender, yes, but they will be pretty good regardless. Paige, JMM, and PJ is a pretty good 3 to start with.

A lineup of Paige, McDonald, Hairston, McAdoo, and a freshman/Brice Johnson is just asking for a 5 or 6 seed.

I do think Bullock will stick in the NBA though.

Agreed on Reggie. He will have a role, plus he needed to go.

I'm not trying to say that's a final four squad, but it's too early to tell. It's hard for me to imagine 15-20 better teams though. We shall see. It depends on the development on the young bigs

Hicks and Meeks are better prospects and more capable of contributing as freshmen than James and Johnson were this past season, IMO. Wiggins would be a great addition on the wing.

Paige
Hairston
Wiggins
McAdoo
James/Meeks

That would be a solid starting 5 and a nice rotation when you include McDonald, Johnson, Hicks, Tokoto, and Britt. But most signs are pointing Wiggins toward FSU.

Hairston,Mcadoo returning for Carolina

2 out of 3 ain't bad. Bullock departing is not unexpected (seemed like another Justin Hunter situation). Even if we don't get Wiggins, I still like this team. I think Hairston is poised to take over the reigns if no Wiggins. Add Wiggins, and this team could be really good.

UK and FSU - those are the two schools that it seems he would have already pulled the trigger for if indeed he were headed to either, but I'm not Wiggins, so I can't possibly understand his decision process. In the end, it probably ends up being one of those two regardless.

Yup. McDonald can spot up and shoot like Bullock did, but won't be as good defensively. He will be easier to replace than JMM or PJ would have been. One of the Freshmen/Soph big men need to step up take the center spot. There is talent there.

I don't want to make this a UNC Bball thread, but I think the most logical insertion (if no Wiggins) is Johnson. I think he will eventually become a very good player. At the beginning of last season, I thought James looked like he was nearly ready to take a starting position, but he really faded throughout the season. I don't know why exactly. Seems like there might have been some injury issues at one point, but I forget.
