The Bracket

How could that be if they take the loss they no longer host and would have to take a pretty good hit in the rankings.
Without the acc championship they aren’t hosting anyway but are in the top 12 right behind us. Based on why they’ve stated if they lose they might drop but still be in playing on the road.

I will admit I did not watch and see the context of the question. This is very different than what others are saying. This implies that those teams within the top 12 who are not bumped due to upsets that move teams outside of the 12 into the mix can actually move around. And that the only teams that are not currently in the top 12 that could move into the top 12 are:

- UNLV
- Clemson
- Arizona State
- Iowa State

Those teams would take the place of someone currently in the top 12.

Additionally, because the final location of the BIG 10 and SEC champion will determine seed 1 verses seed 2 and re-location impacts who plays whom, they will need to adjust based on those if upsets happen. And they really can't justify keeping a team in the same spot if said team was embarrassed in the championship game.

Clemson would host if they win the ACC. So, to me, it would be no surprise to see the committee put SMU as first out.

If we play in Neyland, I have no doubt we win. Honestly though, I’m not so sure about us beating OSU in the shoe. Are we better, absolutely, but I’m not feeling us playing there.
OSU doesn’t scare me where we play them. If it’s bad weather in Columbus Sampson will have a heyday.

I get it. But if we are going to win it all then we are going to have a big statement game along the way. And if we play our game we can make a big one to get things going.

Ohio state is a scary team to play at idc what takes you reply with it is what it is, penn state and Oregon also are deafening

Lovely how TN gets to play at the 4th loudest stadium and loudest (oregon>vols>penn>ohio for decibles)

Knowing Ohio, they will demand to play at noon, which will cancel some of that crowd noise out.

You can respect the other team, but never think they are better than you. If you do you’ve already lost.

It would be a sad precedent to blatantly lie on tv if that were the case. It’s one thing to make rules as you go but it’s worse to break them when you do.

We’re stuck

I listened to the quote - he didn't say what some folks think he said. There will be movement based on the outcomes of the championship games. And there has to be. There will be no data point to move a team not currently outside of the top 12 into the top 12 other than those playing in the championship games.

He did not say the positions of those playing in the championship games are protected - at least not in this response.

tOSU also recruits Top 5 classes consistently, year in and year out. Day is their weak point but they manage to win some games by simply having lots of depth. It's very similar to Bama except Bama had a good coach too.

The weather is the big worry for me. They think nothing of a snow or ice situation. They'll likely practice lots of days leading up to the game in ice, snow, or rain. We probably won't.

Why would they care if they’re doing what’s best for business?

Because that’s what it boils down to at the end of the day.

Nothing is set yet except Alabama getting in till the conference games are played. Penn State or Georgia could/should fall below us if they lose their games
