The Dallas Cowboys football circus thread

chavis what would that make JAx and houston for you? (Feel the texans would be what, a more UK or something?)

Don't know what more you can say about the game...

Romo's statline sums up his career. 400 pass yards and 3 td's, mostly to the best WR/TE duo in the NFL, but screwing up the game with three picks.

Our defense was torn up by the Oilers even though we had a bye week.

The first quarter of this season has been a total embarrassment.

They had to start the season 3-1. Road games at Minnesota, Green Bay, Indianapolis and Arizona loom, a home game against the Saints and both divisional matchups with the Eagles and Giants.

This was supposed to be the SB year at home, and now this squad is looking .500 right in the face. If they don't go 9-3 the rest of the way Jones will have no choice but to get rid of the whole staff.

Both my football teams are two games below .500. This seems like the most miserable season I've ever had as a football fan.

There is, but less than 10 wins is absolutely underachieving for Wade and co., and they're going to have to go 9-3 the rest of the way. It's a very tall order.

I wanna be optimistic, but I don't think this team can do it. This is such a poorly coached team...what a waste of talent.

Maybe after the season Jerrah will check his ego and hire Cowher and give him full control ala Parcells. I'm not optimistic about that, either.

That's the silver lining about this mess; if/when Wade and co. finally get the boot, there seems to be an abundance of great coaches such as Cowher, Gruden, etc. on the market. I can only hope that Jerry will finally get hit upside the head with the fact that he can't have success when he takes that level of control over his team. He's like a less psychotic Al Davis.

Romo is the weak link on that team, always has been. People fall in love with the way he throws the ball, then he throws 3 picks and ruins your day.

Haha, I love how instead of trying to tackle Johnson, Jenkins just turned around and started running. :eek:lol:

That was actually the best decision for him to make. If he turns to initiate a tackle Johnson is most likely already behind him with one guy to beat.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the Cowboys try way too hard to run the offense through Miles. He's obviously the best player on the offense and makes big time plays but it looked as if lots of plays were designed for him while the rest of the routes were decoys.

It would be hard to see it in the stat sheet because the ball was spread around but he did have the most catches and I'd venture a fair amount of those 15 incompletions went his way. Not saying he dropped them but that the ball was forced into coverage and was batted down because the ball was going his way no matter what.

This is my only hope. Back up a Brinks truck to Cowher's house and hire a real GM. Jerry is the best and worse thing about the Cowboys.

Wait, wasn't Jason Garrett promised the HC job when Wade is done?

You really need more balance on offense. You've got some solid backs, so feed them the ball. I know you were playing catch up, but throwing that many times got Romo killed. It's just like with the Titans. We weren't throwing it near enough until yesterday. The passing game really opened things up for CJ.

Yeah 3 years ago to keep him from Baltimore. Now Garrett is the biggest problem imo. He has the best combo of backs, recievers and tight ends in the league, yet doesn't have a clue how to get them all involved in the offense.

Exactly. This team is built for a vertical passing attack, but the run/pass ratio is just ridiculous.

Won't go that far. 13-3 can still happen, and I'll root for them every week.

But if the boys suck and wade, Garrett, romo, etc. are shipped out, I'll feel less bad.

The season is pretty much on the line Sunday. The schedule looks like it's simply too tough to recover from a 1-4 start. The playloffs won't be out of reach, but they'll have made it way out in the distance.
