The fix is in

This is the same committee (different people) that didn’t penalize Ohio State in the 4 team playoff in 2020 whenever they played 5 regular season games and gifted almighty Northwestern for the “Big Ten Championship” that year. It’s always been a sham whenever they are involved.

UGA slightly underperformed? They got their asses kicked by Ga Tech and got bailed out by ******** officiating. Call a spade a spade.

Im talking about ratings in general and its impact on our resume. Everyone expected UGA to be in the top 2 this year and they are in the Top 5....

Again I'll point this out and I'm sure some will say I'm crazy but the committee will set up the matchups they want then find the justifications for those matchups. SEC got what it wanted by having Bama slide into that last spot which gave the SEC four teams in the playoffs; Big ten got an extra home game for one of their teams. SEC will get one home game in the first round. Matchups will be to market the games to a max; whole reason Bama is in over Carolina or Ole Miss or Miami even. Politics, money, and marketing will determine who meets who not rankings throughout the year.

Bama lost to 2 middling teams in Oklahoma and Vandy along with losing to the awesome VOLS yet they make the playoffs - unbelievable.
Sankey putting the heat on. He ain’t letting the Big 10 get 4 teams in to our 3. The Bama brand is an easier sell than Ole Miss and
USC jr. even if they don’t deserve it.

You guys are so weak. Afraid of even the least competition. I'm personally excited to see us play at Ohio State (a venue we've never played at). And I'm expecting us to win.
Pressure is 100% on Day. He can’t beat UM and to coach at OSU you have to beat UM and the loyalists are calling for his job. They looked like dogshit Sat BTW. This may set up perfect for the Vols. The drama and chaos will be on display before we even get off the bus

Tell me how half of the Ohio state players would even be eligible to play considering the amount of suspensions that should be handed down after the melee that took place against Michigan when the cops had to literally pepper spray their entire team.

So not only did Ohio State not fall below Tennessee but by some miracle of Christ, Georgia ROSE in the rankings after an 8 overtime win to an unranked team at home. I think this was on purpose to screw Tennessee out of any chance to host a game.

Maybe I'm wrong but here's the only possible way it happens now ..

Unless Georgia or Penn St lose by 30 or more points.

This bodes terribly for UT. Tennessee hasn't beat a top 10 team on the road since 2006, 19 seasons let alone a game as crazy huge as a playoff game at someone else's home field.

A real shame.
Georgia rose because two teams above them lost, not because of their performance.

Not worried at all about our defense. But our offense will freeze up and lose its damn mind like they always do on the road in big games. We have to be able to score and score big to win these games now.
I’ll be curious which officiating crews they use for these games. Last thing we need after getting screwed by the committee is a biased group of officials to ensure the vols have drives destroyed by invisible or nonchalant calls

ND can’t stay there. They are not eligible for a bye so they will have to drop.

The committee basically set up a framework to screw us.
Stay where? ND is ranked 4th but will be the #5 seed if Oregon beats Penn State, and will be #6 if Penn State wins. Seedlings and rankings are different.

We will beat any Big Ten team we play. We are just a horrible matchup for any of them. Won’t matter that it is on the road. The thing that ticks me off though is the fact that the format of this thing is so idiotic we are the ones that get screwed out of a home game. We are the 7th best team in the country according to the committee but there will be 6 teams ranked behind us playing for a potential first round bye. Make that make sense.
Oh boy, here we go with the superiority complex again. “We’ll beat anyone we play” is what I read from 80% of this board the week before laying an egg in Fayetteville, getting boatraced at Georgia and needing OT to beat a bad Florida team.

I didn’t say anyone. I said Big Ten teams. You go back and watch their games and tell me Oregon looks like a number 1 team. They wouldn’t even make the SEC Championship game. And we weren’t boat raced at Georgia. It was 17-17 at halftime and 24-17 until 3 minutes left in the game. F off loser.

If Georgia loses we'll probably swap spots with them. No one want to see a Texas vs Georgia game the third titime.
What if Penn State beats Oregon and Texas beats Georgia. They might slide Ohio state to 7 and my curiosity is would they let Georgia only fall one to 8? Or perhaps 9 or 10. To avoid rematches of Tennessee and Georgia 8v9 and Ohio State hosting Indiana again in 7v10. I want to see that less than i want to see us play a road game when we deserve a home game.

Right back at you. Don’t try to call someone out and try to say something that wasn’t said, then get mad about getting called out in return. You clearly didn’t watch the Georgia game, otherwise you wouldn’t say we got “boat raced”. Once again, F off loser.

Oregon would be the 5-seed. My guess is Georgia would fall one seed line at best.

Jesus dude, find some joy. That is loser mentality and defeatist attitude. Not everything happens because "the fix is in" if the committee wanted to hose the SEC they would have put Miami in and left Bama out. To say everyone out there has a bias against UT is extremely egotistical, maybe to a point of unhealthy
Thank you for being one of the voices of reason. It's amazing so many people believe everyone is committed to sabotaging Tennessee.

Nah, horse trading going on behind the scenes right now. Big Ten wanted Ohio State in with a home game, sec wanted Bama to get in. One SEC program will get a home game after championship weekend. Probably will be either Tenn or Texas if they lose to Georgia; if Georgia loses they’re going to be a road team. Committee and the two power conferences have the teams they want in now it’s going to be about setting up matchups.
I thought the same. That if bama gets in, the cost would be a higher seed for the suckeyes. Unfortunately, that's how it played out.

I think they would avoid a Georgia-Tennessee rematch for ratings purposes. In the eyes of ESPN, everyone has seen that game already. They would just keep Georgia at the 7 seed and Ohio State at 8. Big Ten and SEC runner ups are pretty much guaranteed to host or there is going to be some outrage. And then the championship games will go away entirely (which is what I think will happen eventually, regardless of what happens because they will be expanding to 16 teams).
