The general USC debate thread (merged)

It's not like I was a fan of 'SC when Carson Palmer, Troy Polamalu, et al were playing.

It's not like I never fell in love with the tradition of Lott, Munoz, Matthews, Yary, Simpson, Allen, et al or anything.

There's absolutely nothing "despicable", as you so eloquently phrase it, about hoping two programs succeed.

I like Lane and Ed because, quite frankly, I admire their attributes. They talk sh**, they're fearless, and they're winners. See a lot of myself in Lane.

ED was at OLE MISS and got fired for NOT winning. LK has never won anywhere, even in High School as a player.

You had me right up until you called them Winners.. Other than that comment, a fairly good post...GBO:eek:lol:

Guess they both have the potential to be winners, but there records up to this point suggest otherwise

Can't understand why we have not heard on this case. I guess since Reggie bought his way out of talking they are having to build a different case.

you sharing your fantasies with us?

They had nothing but rumors to start with. Now with no depositions. usc will maybe get probation.

ESPN said a couple weeks ago when the Bush case ended that since the NCAA has no subpoena power the USC probe was basically over with little or no penalties.

The longer it goes
the less likely it seems anything of consequence is going to happen

Those bias :censored: are rooting for USC not to get probation.

They did have boxes and boxes of paperwork on them you know. I could see them laying the hammer before the season starts, or Fall practice.

This may be all a timing issue.

One question I came up with while talking to Eric earlier was, is it possible there is somehow a connection to what happened while Kiffin and O were at Tennessee that is holding up the investigation into USC? It seems both are talking longer than they should.

It was just a thought and one of you may know more than I do about the situation and shoot it down.

It may connect why Hammy was at Phoenix not so long ago, which featured a run-in with Kiffin and wife.

Just heard on the radio we are going to get the verdict this week.

I'm really hoping they get what they deserve. The situations involving Reggie Bush, OJ Mayo, and what supposedly happened with Seantrel Henderson are just ridiculous. I don't see how the NCAA can let such blatant violations go. I know a lot of people think it will be a slap on the wrist, but that would be a travesty.

Boosters giving players money is about as bad as it gets IMO.

I hope they get destroyed (only because of Kiffin). After he is forced out, I wouldn't mind them recovering and getting back to being good.

Of course, I don't think anything happens with all of this. The NCAA will find some way to reduce this to a slap on the wrist or some meaningless vacation of past wins that will absolutely ZERO effect on the future of the program. Kiffin and his clowns won't feel any consequences of this, despite the fact that he was on the offensive staff when all of this went down in their footbal program. This whole thing will be a big display that signifies nothing. Kiffin sucks, but he gets by . . .

Absolutely no way the death penalty happens. Minor loss in scholarships is the most I see happening here. It appears the NCAA has nothing substantial on SC.
