Exactly... if we're going to steal a coach, let's steal one who's won everywhere he's been. Hart should know that the fanbase can't afford a hire like this.

Another Derek dooley don't want. Did you here the guy from the Philadelphia newspaper on basilo yesterday? He said at temple he never beat a team with a winning record there and look at his Miami record not good.

Golden is not a homerun hire. Hes more like a single that was stretched to a double because of an overthrow. He has a weak offense and defense and has been outrecruited by our current staff while in the middle of one of the hottest beds of talent on the country..hellf'n no

Will keep saying this ..Golden is the Dooley sequel and sequels are never as good as the first one..WE WOULD BE IN TROUBLE

This guy had 2 winning seasons at Temple and hasn't done anything at Miami. TN needs a proven coach....not Al Golden.

An upgrade over Orange pants. UT coach may be obliged contractually to wear Adidas wear. May be able to get around that like Jack Del Rio and Mike Nolan did several years ago and wear Adidas branded ties.

I'm pretty sure Gruden "was a done deal" at Miami then magically disappeared and they hired Golden. Gruden is the smoke screen for Golden...

Dave Hooker said on the EA show if he had to bet he would bet the hire will be Al Golden. He said other than Gruden there's not a big splash hire out there.

Al Golden?? Isnt he another sub .500 coach? he has done nothing in Miami, in a very weak ACC. If we hire Al Golden as our coach, then I am done with traveling 6 hours on Saturday to Knoxville and spending my hard earned money to watch this dog and pony show Cheek and Hart put on.

Not 100% for Al Golden but....

His first job was taking over the only team that I can think of in the past 25 years that was so bad it was actually kicked out of a conference and building them to respectability. They went 0-11 the year before he took the job and by his 4th year they won 9 games, his career record took a beating the first 3 years (10-26). Without those years on his record he is 28-19. Also consider Miami took self imposed penalties and suspended many players during his first year over an illegal benefits scandal that happened under Randy Shannon.

Just saying you need to look beyond the record.

Gruden= Game 7 walk off grand slam

Fisher= 2 run homer

Strong= solo home run

Golden= ground rule double

Smart= hit by pitch

I will support any coach we hire until they show they can't get it done IE Dooley. But come on after wondering through the wilderness the last 4 years the best they could come up with is Golden??

Talk about an apathetic fan base for the next few years. I would rather keep DD.
