My point is that none of it has been proven yet. It is in court. Basically innocent until found guilty argument. There has also been a lot of fraud around these court proceedings (see Fani Willis situation right now).
I would rather wait until this sort itself out. There is a lot of weaponization of the court/justice system in our society to go after the opposition. Sadly, I have even seen it at the state level.
I agree that very few criminal cases of seditious conspiracy have been proven and that even fewer cases related to the campaign’s actions have been resolved. Those of the latter that have been settled have had minimal consequences.
Beyond a reasonable doubt is not the standard for internet discussions. And even after today, a criminal conviction isn’t required to disqualify a candidate, even though the court went outside of its own rules of judicial restraint to avoid deciding Trump’s eligibility down the road (See Trump v. Anderson: Barrett and Sotomayor concurring opinions).
So, I don’t agree that it hasn’t been proven yet. We know what happened and what their intended outcome was. It’s just a matter of how much it bothers you.
