The Oakland A's- MLB's ACTUAL AAA team

Looking forward to this series. 2 All stars on the mound tonight, Strailey vs. Cole tomorrow, and Liriano vs. Milone on Wednesday night baseball

posted this pic in the Daily Baseball Thread, but it belongs here too. Some sweet retro unis from 1969. I've been firm on my stance about adult males wearing jerseys (that aren't their own), but I'd so rock one of these:

I just want to use this moment to point out that the A's, yes the A's scored on a squeeze play today. I'm guessing Billy wasn't at the game.

Did you see what Garza shouted at Sogard?

I've heard he supposedly called him an f***in p***y, and his supposed twitter account has been attacking Sogard's wife. What a piece of garbage. Oakland plays a type of ball they usually don't and he gets all butthurt because they found a way to beat. Man up and take the loss. All they did was bunt a couple of times and Yoenis crushed one. The beat the Rangers fair and square.

The wife attack offends me a lot. **** Matt Garza, what an *******.

@EricSogard you try any of that bunt cake at the desert table? oh, kaycee made it? dang, no wonder it was so good.

From Jane Lee:

Sogard: “We took it as a joke” « Major Lee-ague

The Rangers pitcher, having already voiced his displeasure with Eric Sogard on Saturday after the A’s infielder executed a safety squeeze, took to Twitter later in the night and took shots at not only Sogard but the infielder’s wife, Kaycee.

Among his numerous tweets directed at the Sogards: “childish is having your wife speak up for you! certain people can’t shut there woman up!”

Eric, participating in a team charity bowling tournament on Saturday night, learned of Garza’s remarks from a few teammates and was rather surprised, especially since wife Kaycee had only tweeted, “Eric is probably the last person to respond to getting called names.”

“I went back and looked to see what she said and I don’t see it how it was directed at him, or how he could take it that way,” Sogard said.

Still, he took the high road and even slightly excused Garza’s actions.

“Obviously you get caught up in the heat of the moment, things like that can happen,” Eric said, “but I was kind of surprised to see it escalated and what happened later.

“[Kaycee] just thought it was a joke. She took it off her shoulders quickly, wasn’t offended by it really. We just kind of laughed about it. We took it as a joke, and that’s how we’ll continue to look at it.”

Colon seemingly getting squeezed early in Cincy. He's all over the corners but not getting the call...

not a lot of good to come out of the past week and a half, but Adam Rosales is an A again (just days after all his stuff was shipped from Oakland to Texas) and Reddick hit 3 bombs last night. Would love to see him go on a tear offensively to close out the season (and hopefully close out the Rangers). This team just can't get pitching and hitting together at the same time. If they ever do, they will be extremely dangerous.

It will happen. I think Melvin will get them all playing together with a massive win streak in September. I don't mind the inconsistent play right now, because I see that streak coming soon.

what a way to start september. Oakland A's fresh off a sweep of the Rays welcome Texas to town with just one game separating the two in the West. A's up 4-2 in the sixth. A's and Texas play each other six times this month, counting this one. Texas also gets Pittsburgh, Kansas City and Tampa. A's get the Angels, Twins and Mariners.
