The Oakland A's- MLB's ACTUAL AAA team

Best record in not just the AL West, but all of the American League, and what's this from ESPN, best team in all of baseball for the first month?

A's were baseball's best team in April - SweetSpot Blog - ESPN

Green Collar Baseball: That’s the A’s official slogan of sorts. The team’s website includes it, and the clubhouse in spring training had a sign up to remind players of it, not that they need reminding. As Donaldson told me in spring training about what it means, "It’s about grinding every at-bat. That you’re never out of a game." It’s not necessarily playing with a chip on your shoulder just because you’re on the small-market A’s but showcasing your ability every day, no matter your salary, your service time, the number of fans in the park or your place in the standings. "I think you’re going have guys in this locker room who are going to be $20 million ballplayers," Donaldson said in March. "They may not be making $20 million right now, but there’s definitely potential for guys to make that money. There’s a bunch of guys here with less than three years of service, so we have guys still trying to make their mark. That’s the great thing about baseball: You get a chance every time you step on the field to prove yourself."

I've kept my mouth shut all year afraid of jinxing it, but the A's have to win right now. Immediately. The farm system is barren. We had two good prospects and just gave them away to shore up pitching.

Donaldson is about to get too pricey, Cespedes is a FA after next year, Moss's price tag will go up significantly next year and Lowrie is a free agent after this year. It's win or go home. Starting about 2016, the A's will be back to mid to late 90s level.

I can see Cespedes staying if he keeps being not too good. The A's don't have a farm system anymore. I really hope they do win the ws this year.

I think Moss will sacrifice pay to be in Oakland. He seems to really like it here.

I'm still in don't talk mode, but whatever mod changed the thread title needs to be suspended. Please change it back.

Someone changed the thread title? What was it before?

And I'm actually serious about the suspension part. Why change a thread title if it's not offensive and has been an established thread for over six years? Don't reinvent the wheel if the wheel still works.

No idea. Maybe someone was just tidying up or something. If the As go on a massive losing streak now, I'll hunt them down. :)

I changed it.

I figured since they've been so awesome lately and are going to the playoffs again that I would change the thread title and you wouldn't mind. Guess I was wrong.

I've thought about asking for the thread to be locked

though i generally don't believe in sports bigamy the As are my second favorite MLB team due primarily to fact that when going to Cal I could go to a game for $5.

As usual they have some good talent, but i can't see them beating out the angels.

This is primarily why the A's are my second favorite team. Ok, not really the money involved into going and seeing them play (as the only few A's games I have been to were against the Royals in KC)

I picked up on the A's when I was a little over 13 years old. I am a Braves fan first (gosh, Sunday night baseball this week is TOUGH!) however I love the A's as well.

And its not because some "A" is on the cap, SCREW THE ANGELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back to the story, I picked up on the A's when I was 13 or so and watched guys like Tim Hudson, Barry Zito, Mark Mulder, Eric Chavez (I actually have autographed photos of Mulder and Chavez) .... Then I kept watching and saw guys like Scutaro, Mark Ellis, Frank Thomas (HOF), Mark Kotsay, Jason Kendall, come to Oakland, and it was just brilliant baseball.

Now with Sonny Gray, (my wifes favorite glasses guy) and Yoenis Cespedes (good bye yo) Tommy Milone (again good bye yo)

Welcome Sam Fuld, and also Jon Lester, and a huge welcome back to JONNY GOMES!

PS Lets get back to the ALCS for the first time since 2006 and not lose 4 straight at least. I am tired of us losing early in the playoffs LOL!

I wish the a's got Martin Prado and Gerrado Parra. We needed another solid contact bat. I think we can make a deep run thus year.
