This is the first time i'd be ordering something online that has to be shipped to an FFL. Called a few places. Found D and J general store near my house does it for 20 bucks. So I think that's who in going to use.

$20 is as good as I've ever seen.

Got my lower in yesterday. It was a blem, but I couldn't find a blemish on it anywhere. The guy that owns the store use to be a machinist and told me it was the A in the serial number not engraved deep enough. Interesting if that's the only thing.

Guy that runs the general store was super nice, fast, and really inexpensive to use. I would recommend him to anyone in the area.

I've had a gen 4 g17 and g26 for 3 years and haven't had any problems. If you're that worried about it, they still make gen 3's.

I like the look and feel of the 4's better. Have you done any mods to your 17?

Yeah, I cut the grip down to the size of a G19 and added XS big dot sights. I've got thousands of rounds through it, never had a malfunction with it.

Curious why you just didn't buy the G19? Wanted the longer barrel?

Not for edc it won't.

Cutting the grip on a 17 is actually quite popular. It's more concealable, you can use g19 mags as wel as g17 mags. You can also snatch those mags out of the gun easier in case of a malfunction.You also get the full sight radius without the compromise of the 19. It's minimal granted, but it is comforting.
Then again, most people care about how their guns look. My guns are tools, and I beat the **** out of them.

Side note, I was carrying the VP9 from HK, I sold it when I couldn't get used to the slide release not locking the slide to the rear on empty. It was my grip on the pistol, it's a great pistol, I just couldn't get used to it. The Curse of years of 1911 shooting. Oh well...

It's a surefire, so it's automatically great. They make a great product. The ultra is worth the extra coin. Although it will stick out the front end of your 19. However, that's a good thing in muzzle contact situations.

Think I'm going with Trijicon night sights, Surefire X300 and the factory Glock magazine extension for my home defense set-up.
