I’m convinced we were playing possum today…to make the Gators think we suck.
I don't think so and it certainly wasn't the case last year when we played inferior competition. We ran up the score on Ball State, Akron and UT Martin. The truth is this Tennessee team had either an awful game or this Tennessee team is not a good as many hoped. I hope it's the former.

Heup didn't trust Milton after the first few series. Plain as day.

I know he wants Joe to keep his confidence but he's either the guy or he isn't. That playcalling says he isn't. Maybe they think Nico isn't ready yet.

Something needs to happen or that's a 4 loss team. Good news is after today if our offense finds life again no one looks unbeatable except maybe UGA.

Joe had a few bad throws and there were lots of drops, including fumbles, by our receivers.

However, yet another game with no INTs by Milton. We played a very vanilla offense with shallow passing.

Neither the O nor D played great today, but I don’t think it’s indicative of how our season will go nor our level of play.

I’ll withhold judgement (and panic) on this team until after next week. That said, today’s performance was not encouraging.
No interceptions is great. But our passing game is limited to screens and swing passes. That’s probably a problem but Heupel’s a genius so he may make it work.

Nome of those are objectively better teams. Add to that who will jump us? Texas should. Oregon? Barely beat TT? Please.
If you don’t think a road win vs a power 5 FBS team isn’t better than a mediocre win vs an FCS team, then there’s no rational basis on which we can have a conversation. Nobody that is involved in college football or even has any minimal level of football knowledge would make that argument while sober or sane. I’m trying to be kind but that argument is idiotic if you really believe that.

There was one ugly drop. Only one. There’s a reason they only let him throw within 2 yards of the los after he had shown he can’t hit the broad side of a barn.
Im just glad they did that and won vs let him
Spiral to some crazy Georgia state upset type game. I remember thinking during that “ someone please do something” at least Huepel just let us out athlete them and regroup for the swamp.

Thank you. I mean you would think that it would be obvious, but evidently it’s not to a large portion of posters.

You and the person you responded to are completely clueless. Tell me when Heupel has played possum? There are several years worth of tape on Heupel’s offense. And frankly Milton needs to work “running the offense”. Today’s game was atrocious. And Heupel was not pleased with the team’s performance.

Heupel schemed a vanilla offense which would make sense, keep playbook a secret till Florida. However, the Vols did not run the Vanilla offense very well

I can’t wait to see us run flea flickers, fake punt, run the Statue of Liberty, a fumblerooskie, and onside kick every time. This secret playbook is going to look like a ten year old playing Madden

Oh Head coaches and offensive coordinators with Heupel’s level of experience “keep playbook a secret”.

The game of football is not “rocket surgery”.

Well the running game is actually pretty good for the most part so that helps. They could’ve set up some short passes on the 3rd and shorts that got blown up on all out blitzes. I’m not sure they have as much confidence in Joe as they let on.

Do you seriously not understand that they kept the playbook closed today?

Lmao. Let’s see what the offense looks like next week…

ND and Utah played decent power 5 teams and they both won on the road so that’s objectively untrue. LSU played a team on Peay’s level but won with a score we should have won with. Ball State is FBS and is much better than FCS Peay. I didn’t say OSU and MI were better wins. I said they were a push. You’re sugarcoating today.
