The Official Evansville @ #1 Tennessee Knoxville Super Regional Game 3 Thread (Sun. June 9th 7:06PM EST) (ESPNU)

It appears to me they are much better in their second at bat seeing the same pitcher. With that said, I wouldn't let a pitcher face the same batter twice. Only exception might be bottom of the lineup, but the first batter that gets on base after seeing the same pitcher twice, time for a pitching change. Have two pitchers ready the entire game at any given time.

After being down 4 and coming back to win, they will have the confidence they can do it again, so I'm not sure how big a lead we would need to feel comfortable today. All the pressure is on us and how do we respond? Here's hoping history doesn't repeat itself like 2 years ago when we were the 1 seed.

My 2 cents worth.

Go Vols!!
Are you saying you would pull Zander in top of 3rd or 4th inning even if he has not given up any runs?

Siap but is CMO back in the starting lineup today? It felt like it threw off his mojo yesterday. I’m assuming he is, the season is on the line.

Well, it looks like prayer would be the only way they play today... and from the rest of the world's news, I gotta figure our game's pretty far down His priority list.

What passed through Columbia, TN this morning was full of lightning.

After 11pm, it's rain-free all night and all day Monday.

Lot's of worthy challenges between this team and a CWS trophy. Might as well start facing them now. Good preparation for what's ahead. Winning every game was never going to make us tougher.

And FWIW, both teams will benefit from another day of rest and physical recovery.
I'd be happy with a replay of Friday's game.
Don't trust the forecast or the weather maps too much. I've seen it change in hours or less.
It was raining like a hurricane at my house Monday night and not a single thing was showing on the weather maps.

There is hope. One day the light will go on and you will discover life is much more enjoyable as a very casual fan rather than a diehard fan that lets it control your moods and emotions. Happened to me in my early 50s. I mostly now just look at scores and think “hey they won, cool” or “oh they lost - oh well”.
I can do this during the regular season. But for baseball and basketball I suffer when we lose in the playoffs. As for my favorite sport football, I still
Unfortunately suffer with every play in every game.

lol yes. I feel like my Vol fandom is gonna be the death of me at some point. My poor husband is at the end of his rope of my fandom getting in the way of our life. We just moved into this home a month ago. We have 3 kids ages 15-6. My oldest is trying to get her first job, and we’re trying to teach her how to drive, plus trying to deal with things that come with a brand new home. It’s hard.

Is hard. My wife has luckily bought into my fandom. Basevols are her fave. I'm sure CTV has nothing to do with that. 😆

3, 16-5 here. I get it!

The same southern Miss team that was in an elimination game after day 1 after getting blasted by a Big 10 team?
And then they turned around and beat the brakes off that same Big 10 team 15-3. Any team can get lucky and win 1 game. Southern Miss is a proven program. Those Big 10 teams went a combined 3-6 in the NCAAT. Congrats 🍾

Not trying to be argumentative, but we had the tying run at 2nd and go ahead run at first with our best player at the plate. Given the circumstances, I think that approach worked well and, if anything, is was psychological for our guys to be patient and work a good at bat instead of focusing on winning it with one swing.
I agree. In fact, I wish Stark and CMo could have been a little more patient. Granted, Stark got down 0-2 and had to swing.

As a realistic Volunteers baseball fan I’m fearful of the realistic disappointment which is the Purple Aces making less mistakes, and finding more ways to score runs in a likely high scoring competitive game can happen.
I’m still predicting the Volunteers win a high scoring competitive game 3 by having slightly more successful hits to score more runs, the Volunteers leave less runners in scoring position, and the Volunteers defense get outs when needed.

Well right now the kitchen is the least of my priorities. The front and back lawns are #1. Do we plow and seed or hire someone to level and lay sod? #2 is the unfinished basement. I want to put 2 brms, 1 full ba and a living area. My husband’s brother is an electrician, and my dad has been building homes for decades. Plumbing is already set. I feel like we are set up for success, but understand there’s a lot of money and work involved here.
That’s an exciting time in your family’s journey. Take your time and enjoy it.

All I know is the hourly forecasts get more accurate with time, so what I've found more trustworthy than the details is how the forecast is trending.

Here's the noon update, FWIW:

(I'm not really a weather nut. I just downloaded a freeware graphics program and this has been a fun excuse to get familiar with what I can make it do.)
