Hard to win this thing. FSU 44 straight ncaa tourneys up until last year and 24 CWS appearances with no titles.

It’s easy to coach from the couch, but I think you have to start your best arm against theirs in this format. Losing game one is basically insurmountable. As bad as we’ve played, you have to assume we could win with seven runs with better pitching.

Yep. Which I think is what Tony did tonight. Beam hasn’t been great this year. Tony stuck with the Stamos/Causey combo which has been our best combo this year. It let us down. Didn’t work. It is what it is.

Said it in another post, but I guarantee of all the things Tony anticipated happening tonight, I doubt he had something drawn up to fight back from handing the other team 5 runs from errors.

I’m not complimenting Blake Burke on anything, save for his one RBI he has looked like absolute crap. Amick too. I’m not giving up yet, but 11 runs is pathetic. Looks like another absolute choke job at this point.

I don’t agree with brining Snead in down 4. You can’t trot out the entire bullpen in a game one loss.

Agree 100%. I won’t pretend to be a coach, but who can we count on Sunday, Tues and Wed if we somehow advance? Sunday and Tuesday are the biggest concerns.

Also, the lack of the long ball hurts us, imo. C Mo and Tears went yard, but we are used to hitting three to four a game?
