I’m just going to say it, using Griffin Merrit right there in that situation in the 9th inning is a suspect and bad decisions by Vitello. He’s struggling worse than any player on the team. That’s not the time to try and get him to break out of his slump.

Agree 100%.

Nope we'll take tomorrow's game. If not for silly mistakes we're tied in the 9th in both games.
As Dandy Don said...if ifs and buts were candy and nuts. A big part of the reason LSU is #1 is that they have the nations best defense. They also have a tremendous lineup of bats plus some pretty damned good pitching led by that freak of nature Skenes. There comes a point when you have to consider that these aren't just "mistakes" on our part but more an indication of our talent level. Not saying we're bad, but we aren't on LSU's level. Not even close.

Besides Kentucky, most of those are also at sea level

Lol…nope. Baum Stadium is not. It’s at 1400 feet. Athens is at 636 feet. Nashville is 360+ feet to 1,000 in areas. You aren’t good at facts.

But we also play roughly 2 months in mostly cool/luke warm weather.

They also had the worst defense in the league last year. Best team money can buy. We are young and will learn and gel. We will be elite by seasons end and will be taking ass next year. We will make some noise this year too. Just win tomorrow boys!

It’s been more of an adjustment for both of them than I thought it would be. Ahuna has been mostly fine though, he just needs to cut down his strikeouts. He just needs to make contact. He swings and misses too much.

I think a lot of that has to do with his approach. He’s watching hittable pitches go by early in the count, then when he has 2 strikes, he chases.

Ole Miss wasn't on our level last year....

People are really this dumb. I will remember you said that in June.

our talent is so bad we can’t read flyballs? Every pop up in the clay is an adventure with this bunch right now.

Enough with the “Ole Miss” stuff. It’s not the norm for a team to win a title after barely sneaking into the tournament. That’s not a position we want to be in.
Not only that, but wasn't Ole Miss #1 preseason then had several guys...pitchers I think....get injured and miss a lot of time? Comparing us now to Ole Miss in that situation last year isn't apples to apples. Might be wrong on this, but that's kinda what I remember.

Exactly. These games do matter. The goal shouldn’t be to just squeak into the post-season. It’s MUCH harder to make it to Omaha if you’re not hosting a regional.

Thank you. It’s such a stupid comparison because it’s such a outlier. No top ten team wants to say, well we can be Farleigh Dickinson
