The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

With Bill as the OL coach, we don't necessarily have to have the top LT option.
They probably still do. It wasn’t offensive line coaching alone that made last year’s offensive so bad that it allowed the third most sacks in the league (64 sacks allowed).

Also didn’t RC openly talk about moving Skoronski to LT? If they think he can play tackle, it makes more sense to bring in a weapon for Levis.

Granted I’m not convinced he can
I don’t think so. This was from about a month ago, and the team GM mostly talks about playing him at guard.

Titans GM explains why Peter Skoronski didn't get a shot at LT

Really, at the moment following a quick search, the only recent thing I can find press-wise about moving him to LT is a piece penned up from The Tennessean from mid-November of last year…but it was more an opinion piece.

A couple of weeks ago Kuharsky made the comment I think it was in a PC with Carthon of you drafted a All-American Left Tackle and never played him at tackle.

Hitching your wagon to Jerry Jones hasn't been a good career move for a whole lot of coaches.

And if the rumors of Vrabel wanting more control than the average coach are true (I assume they are), it’s not a good match to put yourself with an owner known for taking more control than the average owner.

Earned or not, it is safe to say that Vrabel has the baggage of wanting more control than most owners and GMs want to give. Apparently he has been interviewing for HC and DC jobs and not getting offers. I'm sure he will get the opportunity to DC down the line, the league loves to recycle.

Stating the obvious, who we draft at 7 depends on who we pick up in free agency. I think we should still draft an OT at 7 since they are so hard to find in FA unless you way overpay.

Who did he interview with for a DC job?

If I were Vrabel I would not be interviewing for DC jobs so soon. In all likelihood he'll eventually get another HC job, and his year as an actual DC was terrible.

Coaching Staff just about finished new names are Ben Bloom as outside LB coach and Tracy Rocker coming back as DL coach. Only slot open is the special teams coordinator and it looks like the head of the strength and conditioning staff isn't being retained.

Good staff coming together. One of the most important is that new head of S&C. Cannot keep doing that program the same way.
