This thread is literally called THE OFFICIATING THREAD. If you don’t want to see people complaining about officiating go into one of the numerous threads about how bad we played or about how bad the coaching was. Yes, Georgia out played us the 2nd half. Yes, the officiating was very one sided. Both things can be true.
That wasn't a fumble 100% of the time. An underhand forward toss is a passA Face-Mask call that didn’t even “touch” the Face-Mask!
— UGA player “punches” a Tennessee player - Right in front of a Ref — And then just walks away!!!!
— A Pass Interference call on Tennessee- on a pass that was thrown over the head of the UGA receiver — Three Yards OUT OF BOUNDS!
— A couple of bad spots on Tennessee downs…
— A couple of times where UGA’s secondary CLEARLY hit our receivers while the ball was IN THE AIR! - (Of course “pass interference” wasn’t called!)
“12 men on the field” - Which the Refs NEVER even threw a flag for!
— They gathered on the side-line & then let Kirby Smart CALL THE PENALTY!!!!!
And a New Wrinkle — I guess if you just “toss” the ball to your running-back (instead of handing it off) — it is now considered a “Forward Pass” instead of a fumble!!!!
It was RIDICULOUS!!!
In both fumbles that were miraculously called not fumbles, both ball carriers had made a “football move”. The bump pass was close but the other catch by the TE was an obvious fumble.
That was a bad one…that one and the “facemask” that got them out of a hole and first down were crushing to us.OP also forgot Beck’s false start that wasn’t called on their final TD pass (not sure if this was a TD but a huge play nonetheless). To be clear, I wasn’t expecting to win this one and would’ve been able to stomach it if we lost fair & square but the horrible officiating leaves a terrible taste in the mouth.

I’ve never once seen a QB take a backward step pre-snap once the offense is set where it wasn’t called a false start.Even Herbie called that one out and he was quickly stifled by Fowler and the “rules expert”. “No, no, no, you can go in motion before the ball is snapped”. Herbie continued to argue it and he must’ve got the call in his ear to shut up about it.
