If the reports that the conversation lasted three minutes are accurate, you can forget the 'AA showing any mercy on that charge. It takes about 2 seconds to say "Nice to see you, Jordan. We'll talk further when we can."

Do you really think the AA can make a major violation stick on a minor infraction that is committed on a daily basis by every school in the country?

The fact a substantial portion of our fanbase buys that Pearl "willingly admitted" anything proves Chris Fowler was right.

If you think UT is relying on luck to get the Committee to do anything, then I give you to much credit. I would not be surprised to see that Tennessee is working with the AA to come up with some sort of "Plea Agreement" and never has to go before the Committee.

If you don't see how ridiculous acting as if coming clean after lying about something anyone with an IQ above room temperature would know the 'AA already knew the answers to is some grand act of contrition, I can't help. The investigators knew exactly when and where those photos were taken and who was in them when they questioned Pearl. It's Investigation 101. They asked because their instincts said Pearl was a lying fraud. He simply confirmed that for them. His going back to them is a pathetic and meaningless attempt at damage control.

UT's already been told their request for a Summary Disposition is a waste of time.

I know the 'AA already know about the BBQ before they asked Pearl. I agree with you 100% on that. However I disagree that it was pathetic to go back to them and admit he had lied. I think if he had not gone back, there is a good chance we could be facing harsher punishment from the NCAA. It may not have helped anything, but it definitely didn't hurt anything.

That would be an awesome accomplishment for UT, especially when you consider there's really no such mechanism of disposition in the NCAA Bylaws.

I don't think this place is one sided, but it is full of people who get so defensive of their own opinions that if anyone disagrees with them they are either stupid or crazy.

Don't disagree with you but it just seemed hypocritical to point out that example while the three previous pages were filled with the exact same type of attitude just with the reverse opinion.

I absolutely love what Bruce Pearl has done for Tennessee basketball in the past five years. I absolutely hate what he has done *to* it this year.

I'm a season ticket holder and I don't want to see the ride end. I know that to recruit at an elite level is to get your hands a little dirty. But my cheese meter has been pushed too far by the tearful presser followed by an immediate violation that could so easily have been avoided. I don't see how he can survive this, and I'm not sure I can give a good reason that he should.

It's not a personal judgment on lying vs. telling the truth. It's about having pride in our program and its ambassadors.

Probably more an accumulation of things over the past 2 days. I disagree with your personal take on the situation but you don't appear to be of the mindset that that makes me some sort of closet "insert team X" fan. That's at least a refreshing change.
