I have nothing to back this up on, but it seems like the prospects that have an advanced feel for the strike zone have a much easier time adjusting to the big leagues. Guys like Bruce and Heyward who tore up the minors but always struck out a lot seem to always have some fairly severe growing pains.

That would make sense. It's hard to teach a good eye, you just have to develop it

Heyward has an incredible eye. Just a couple holes in his swings.

I really wish someone in the front office would tune in to reality and trade Jay Bruce while there are still people out there who think he's something more than the bastard child of Austin Kearns and Adam Dunn.

They held on to Ramon Hernandez and the other vets so they could lose to F'n Astros. If they don't detonate this roster in the winter, they deserve to fall to the level Houston is at now. I am now channeling the hate I used to have for Adam Dumb directly at the piece of trash in right field now.

But I thought Jay Bruce was better than your RF? Turns out a great 20 game stretch doesn't suddenly make you a great player.
