I decided to run a half-marathon this year, so I started training a couple of weeks ago. I haven't done much research, but I'm running three days a week (while still lifting on the other days) and doing a medium run, a fast "pace" run, and one long run. I went 5.5 miles yesterday in a tick below 44 minutes. Would love to keep that 8 minute pace for the distance. Does that sound like a reasonable plan?
Ill be running my first marathon this Sept. My goal is to run under 4 hours. Currently running about 10 miles a week and working out on the TRX. Mostly using this time to build up my legs. Ill really start my training around 16 weeks out with about 20-40 miles a weeks. Ill be using the Less is More Training FIRST training program. Ill keep you posted my training.
Nevermind, It's too d... cold to go running.
Nuts are fine, my hands are freezing up and my pace is slowing down.
Decent running gloves windshirt and silk sleeping drawers work for me. Ran at 10 deg this weekend and came back with condensated sweat frozen outside my stocking cap, but was OK running.

Yeah, I've been trying to run in a pullover and shorts. I am getting too old to keep up with your Army brothers when it comes to acting like weather doesn't affect me.
I run in shorts down to about 20, but I do like the cold. In college, we all just ran around there in shorts and a sweatshirt. If it got cold enough, we threw on a windbreaker type top.
I'm not trying to sound tough, because I don't like the extreme cold. I did feel like I needed to find a way to run in the cold, so I just started trying out some gear. The layering running gloves are plenty, the windshirt makes just a running shirt under work, and the silk tights are perfect for the few days I'd actually be willing to use them. Now, I no longer have the excuse, which I don't need. As I get older and my ankles worse, excuses are much easier to come by.
