The Runner's thread

4 miles after work tonight. Run felt great. Killed some of the hills in the run too.

Splits were 7:46, 7:49, 7:39 and 7:37. Tonight was one of those runs that reminds me why I enjoy it so much. Felt good through the whole run and like a champ afterwards.

Nice job! Love runs like that.

Ran a relaxed 3.8 in 33. Last run before half on Sunday.

Nice lil run with Thrasher704. Nothing crazy, just taking in a good run with good friends. They are gonna be in great form for their 5k in a couple weeks.

Nice way to finish off the recovery week. Just went at a solid pace.

This next week I want to get at it. I want to cover 10k tomorrow on one of the more challenging courses. I want some speed drills on Thursday or Friday. I want Samus running 8:30 miles for at least 2.5 miles. I want to start making improvements that will get me into the 22:xx range by the middle of April if not earlier.

Good luck Nerd and it seems like you have some goals. Hope you are able to reach them and if you aren't able don't let it get
you down.

I am going to try to spice up my longer runs by trying some different spots around town. Any favorite routes in the 6-12 mile range I should consider? Wouldn't mind running downtown somewhere, along the lake, sequoyah, etc.

The Tyson park greenway that goes around UT and Sequoyah is nice. Lots of talent out there.

Finished the half in 1:54:58. Improved 4.5 minutes from the last one; very happy.

awesome. Good job gcb. My running partner is bowing out of the All American Marathon in May. I still know a few others running in it and I'm not scratching it off my list just yet, but it sucks that he's not going to be there. Guess a slot at Air Assault school trumps a marathon though, so I can't blame him.

Thanks very much, guys. I appreciate it.

VFB - I hope you do make the All American; I bet it's an incredible run. Are you running the full? I have a ton of respect for marathoners. Not sure if I'll ever take one of those on.
