The Runner's thread

If you get the trail running bug you will not want to do anything else. There is nothing like running through the woods on a nice summer morning.

I can see that happening.

Does anyone know of any easier trail runs in the Gatlinburg area (I know how the terrain can be there and I am not used to running in the mountains)? I am going to be there this weekend and would like to get a run in while I am there.

Hash run tonight. 20*. Snow/slush everywhere. Mardi gras theme. A few blocks from my house. Looks to be fun.

Late start to the 100 mile March, but I have a lot of long runs to get in to prepare for the marathon in May so I hope to get there. 5 miles today through some very wet sand. Crapped on my time, 45:10, but I got out there. Also, for the record to go back a few pages, I way overdressed. Beanie, a thermal top and pants. Beanie came off shortly after the first mile.

I hate that. I hate having to carry stuff with me when I run. That's why it's so much nicer to run in nicer weather.

Sorry if this is considered TMI, but since I ran in pants, I felt the need to to wear spandex. I stuffed the beanie in the spandex and it really wasn't an issue. Normally I'm not so lucky and I hate carrying things while I run. I have no idea how people run with those hand held water bottles.

I don't enjoy carrying them, but down here in the summer I have to do it. The platypus bottles are great, though.

 Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

4.5 miles. 10:21 pace. It was cold, had donuts washed down with Miller High Life and jello shots as a dessert. There were some boobs, too. Many beads distributed.
