The Runner's thread

4 mile beach run. Weather is overcast and really windy. I am down here for my of my best friends bachelor party weekend so we drank some beers last night and of course that affected me. 8:16 average pace

I'd take 8:16 on a 4 mile beach run any day. Good stuff.

Lulz. I am just trying to push myself. I want to see if I can get anywhere near the really experienced runners like Yankee, smokey and yourself.

Haha, I'm an old pokey. My best 5k is 21 flat, thanks to major energy on race day. Seems fast until you get to the finish and see people already cooled down and snacking.

Screw those runners! I'm just a hobbyist. Great 5k time btw. Gonna be a good carrot for me.

5k. 5 beers. Personal record. No idea what my time was.

NASCAR theme hash. Didn't even get to wear the shirt I made. I was "sponsored" by Summer's Eve douche, Vagisil, and Hitachi Magic Wand. My race "number" was pi to the 80th digit. Took me 2 hours to make the shirt.

I had a lot of fun. Next hash is on Wednesday. It's a blue theme. I need to come up with a blue costume.

I'm addicted to running, unfortunately.

I need more information about these events.

8 beautiful lake front miles. Hit a wall at the 7 mark, but Pharrell and the minions helped me push through :)

Today was supposed to be half marathon day in preparation for my full marathon May 4, but a Nash cold has sidelined me for three days now. I've taken three two hour naps today. Hoping go get at least most of it in tomorrow.

So for the past few weeks I've had trouble getting

1. weather warm enough to run outside
2. a day I didn't get off work after 7/8 for it to be daylight still

To make up for it I've been running what I can on an old treadmill we have downstairs (never more than 2.5 miles or so usually). It's so old that its only powered if you run on it, and its inclined a bit to where you have to hold onto the bars OR full sprint to not fall off.

Today I finally got to get outside and run my normal route. I told myself since it was saturday and my first day back outside I'd just run 1 lap (its about 1.4 miles total with some steep hills up and down mixed in) and see where I stood stamina wise.

I didn't time myself because I didn't think I'd do that well, but I put my ipod in and started and by the time I finished I hadn't even gotten through 2 full songs. I ran nearly a mile and a half in under 8 minutes according to the music I listened to. I hadn't even broken out in a full sweat yet.

I'm going to run tomorrow and time myself for real to see just how fast it is/isn't, but even if I'm a full minute (or two) off, I believe my treadmill is like training in 100x gravity from Dragonball Z.

1.4 this morning, but that was just running back and forth between the two towers of stairs. Was dumb trying to GPS that stair climb.

Any of the Nashville runners in the Cain Ridge/Lennox area?

Trying to decide if I can run down Culbertson Road and survive.
