Downtown Richmond generally sucks. Any work around the bottom?

Shockoe Bottom and Slip have really been revitalized with shops and restaurants. Not sure how long it has been since you were there.

They have great mountain bike/running trails along the north and south side of the river downtown. You feel like you are deep in a jungle. Xterra uses it for their regional triathlon championship.

Ive known a few people who trained for their first 5k and did almost all their running on a treadmill. They would be so confident of the pace they were going to maintain in the race only to have those dreams shattered on race day.

I use treadmills but I hate them. Just feels like it's going on forever. Like being outside better. Especially if the route goes through UCF and the temperatures are warm.
