The Runner's thread

My lower back has been hurting again. I'm not sure what is causing it. Going to try and run today. We will see how my back feels this afternoon.

4.1 miles last night. After starting slow I hit my stride after 2 miles and my last mile was a new PR at 9:10. I felt great this morning, too. No pain anywhere.

Did 4 miles tonight for the first time in a while. Took close to 40 minutes but I'm okay with this. Didn't want to rush into it and my main goal was to finish the 4 miles. I took my time and toward the end it was actually easy. I'm thinking if I can do 4 miles at least 5 days a week I can nail it down by the end of April. Felt great.

3.5 tonight. I was trying to get four in but my back started hurting about two miles in and I struggled to get what I did. I have no idea what had caused my lower back to hurt. Guess I'll have to go to the doctor.

Have you tried stretching your quads? If mine get tight it exerts pressure on my pelvis which strains the lower back.

I'm working on running 3 miles comfortably for the first time in my life. Pretty much couch to 5K here.

Finally getting comfortable with 2 miles, but the idea of pushing it for another mile is pretty rough. My legs just don't have the stamina yet. It's nice to finish and not be completely out of breath though.

My goal is to eventually run a 10K.

Stick with it. It's something no one can take away from you once you accomplish it.

3 miles today wonderful weather to run. Back still hurting a little.

Yesterday was awesome. Most of my work out was walking to and from the OW game and then some landscaping.

Today is just as beautiful. Did 4 miles on Neyland Drive and took me 37:21 so I shaved off about 3 minutes. First two miles are actually getting easier which is nice since those are my worst.

Hope your back improves.

Thanks. I hope it gets better quickly because it's getting the kinda weather that's great to run in. I was hoping to knock down a lot of miles during this time towards my 500 mile goal.

Ran the Oak Island Lighthouse 5k over the weekend. They have a 5k, 10k and 1/2 marathon. Weather was perfect and it was a very well run event. We had a blast.

4 miles today. Back felt the best it has in about two weeks and it allowed me to push my pace. 7:42 pace.

Nice work.

I did 4 miles yesterday...and...it wasn't at that pace. Lol. Maybe like 9 and some change. Taking a break today. But overall my time is improving and the run is getting slightly easier each time.
