I got in the zone near the end of the race yesterday, too. It's a good feeling when you finish but want to keep going.
Crushed 3 miles without much resistance at all.
You know you're getting in better and better shape when you start daydreaming and reflecting on your life during runs that used to be super challenging.
Suddenly come to and realize you just ran a mile without really thinking about it.
I am not a morning person but I had to switch to morning runs.
Picked up a new pair of shoes today also. I have been running in Brooks Pureflow and on longer runs I wasn't getting the support that I need and was starting to hurt a little after runs. So I got a pair of Brooks Ghost (in gray and orange of course). We will see how they do.
That's awesome. Getting in that zone and just running is what it's all about.
Just started trying to get into running this week, and have developed blisters between two of my toes. Any tips for treatment?
Thanks. I'm afraid the push to 4 miles is going to be rough.
I may need to change my route. I run around the Vanderbilt campus, which has a lot of hills, but that also means there are several sections where I'm basically coasting downhill the entire time.
Plus, it's a pain in the ass when I get stopped at traffic lights.
Make sure your running in good socks like Balegas. The guaranteed way to fix the problem is with Injinji Toe Socks. I love them but some people have separation anxiety with their toes.
