The Runner's thread

19th annual Alaska Mens Run.
5 miler.

36:32

Nice work!

I'm going to sign up for The North Face 50 sometime this week. Friends of mine are again running the 50 miles and I'll do the 10k or half marathon. End of September in Wisconsin. These trail run events are so addicting. Laid back, fun, always veer and good food.

3.1 mile run 8:55 pace. Then the kids joined me and we slow jogged/walked(mostly walked) about 2 miles. Phone diedcatc1.65 miles. I was surprised they made it that far. I figured 1 mile topps.

I did that on summer vacations as a teenager. Loved it. Can't run barefoot anymore.

Right now I'm not hurting. May hurt in the morning. If I hurt in the morning I won't be doing it again without shoes.

I just got the adrenaline 14's right before I left and I haven't ran in them yet and didn't want to get them all sandy on my first run with them.

I am definitely stretching both before and after.

I was concerned about the water intake a couple weeks ago and I have really ramped up - close to a gallon a day right now.

Recently got hamstring compression sleeves and started using as post-run recovery. Still too early to know how well they work, but so far does seem to be helping. Might be something to consider for calves if everything else is in order (shoes, stretching, hydration).
