The Runner's thread

2.65 mile easy run to close the month out. 52.13 total miles for the month. Prob a few too many this fast, but running has always been addictive to me. I prob need to take an extra day off here and there and/or throw in a few more slow days.

I agree, but work has been nuts. 60+hrs of OT this month. Haven't been getting the proper amount of sleep. I do most of my running in the mornings so I get up about an hr and 10min earlier to get my run in. I was just thinking that the sleep/rest would be just as important as the exersise. You can only go so long on 4.5-5 hrs of sleep every night.

I did 2 miles Monday at around 19 minutes and yesterday did 2 miles at 18:19.

I also ran up all the steps to Ayres and learned that I have poor quad strength. But it was a good work out.

I hated running stadium laps when I was in high school. My upper legs would burn for hrs afterwards.

4 miles. Unknown time. Tripped and fell... For the second time this week (and I crashed my bike on Friday).

Anyone still run in five fingers? I live just a half mile off the beach and want to incorporate some beach runs into my training. I need something to run in though so I don't step on anything sharp. My five fingers are worn out so I was looking for suggestions or maybe an alternative for a beach running shoe.

Sand in VFF's is the worst. I still have sand in mine from hiking Arches National Park back in 2012.

what shoes won't get sand though if I'm running on the beach? I used these Five Fingers all over Afghaniland and always had sand in them. I would want something that if I did venture into a little water, it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Run barefoot. It'll he fine...ish.

I like the actual idea of running barefoot, but possible sharp seashells and things like broken glass scare me. I'm thinking of just buying a new pair of five fingers. Perhaps I'm mistaken, but it looks like prices are down since the lawsuit settlement.

You have to change your stride with the Five Fingers. People don't understand this.

I've ran the life out of these five fingers I have and have been at least somewhat of a minimalist runner for four years. That's not an issue
