I found this article interesting. I really thought the part about doubling your runs was interesting. I haven't ever thought about running twice in a day for any kind of distance. I may try it a little when it warms up a little and I can run in the morning before work and then again after work.

A lot of bigger events will let you shadow them. You run the distance of the event and still get all the goodies. In Afghanistan, Bagram used to hold their own Boston Marathon. 3 1/2 laps around the inside perimeter.
