The Runner's thread

Two mile run this morning. I love running in the morning and getting it over with but I end up hungry all day long when I run in the morning.

Morning runs help my metabolism. 2 miles yesterday, 4 miles today. First back to back runs. My endurance is increasing, but I'm not getting any faster

Did a little hybrid run/resistance routine tonight as early prep for the Spartan Race. Running after a halfway spell of pushups, pullups, and crunches sucks.

12 30/60s (30 second dead sprint, 60 second jog/quick walk). Came out to 2.25 miles. First speed test on the calf passed with flying colors! Time to step it up a notch or two.

13.1 trail race in 2:48. Last year's time for the same race, but reversed course was 3:12. Shaved 24 minutes off, not too shabby for having not run since my DNF at Cry Me A River 50.

The winds and surf were far to high for me to get to run along the beach today.

Did make it 8.1 miles. I'm making the Marine Corps Marathon, no matter how slow my finish time is going to be.

I'd like to do the Marine Corps Marathon eventually

I got picked through the lottery this year for the Marine Corps. Almost got to double dip. My Platoon Sergeant had me as her second pick to take her Army Ten Miler bib, but her son (the number one pick) decided to take it

My old man ran Marine Corps. He said it was the hardest he ran and i think he ran 8 different marathons.

Got myself a case of extensor tendonitis after the half on Saturday. It's literally the only sore part of my body left.

I did a trail race up in Table Rock State Park. That was my toughest "run" (as in I walked a lot).

The most difficult road course for me was the Nashville Rock n Roll half. It may have the heat though.

The winds were pretty high that day. The run was no where near a fast pace.

Just went for my run and it started pouring rain. Dang! Will run tonight.

I always was mad that football and cross country were held at the same time in high school. I want to enter a marathon or something.

Do it!! Training for it and then finishing it, no matter what your time is, will be one of the most rewarding things. Race day is awesome.

Finishing your first race at any distance is rewarding, continuing to push yourself to further distances is even more so.
