The Runner's thread

4.15 in 33.18 today.

The last 3 miles were under 8 min/mi and it felt good. I am pretty happy with that.

Been a long while for me posting here. Ran a 5K this weekend and it was hot as all get out. 32:04 which is good for me.

anyone else running the Smoky Mountain Half? It's the morning of the Battle at Bristol. I'm doing the Black Bear Double. 5k Friday night, Half on Saturday morning.

Realizing I need to get a hotel. Somewhere near Alcoa or Maryville probably. Any suggestions for around $100 that's within 30 min of Townsend?

Finally got through my knee pain and swelling and back up to an easy 3 miles and strain my calf.

Any advice for treatment and future prevention.

You can probably stay in Townsend for that. Plenty of places around the airport as well.

Trying to get back at it.

3.11mi in 27:54. Not great but I'll take it. Problem is I can't seem to do back to back days of good pace. Hopefully if I lose weight that will come.

I ran Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I've got less than 200 miles to reach my goal for the year. This year has been rough to stay on track.. Life has been getting in the way. My legs are feeling pretty weak right now. I have taken time off here and there to try and rest them, but it just doesn't seem to be working. Anyone have any suggestions to help with tired legs?

I'm running my first official 5K this Saturday. Next month, a friend and I are going to run a 1/2 marathon in Chattanooga. Not the full 13.1, but 6.5 miles each, relay style.

I'm still slow, but I'm making steady improvement.

At least you're out there

The start of the Smoky Mountain Half. My favorite race ever. The scenery was just unbelievable

DMSO for circulation. Be careful with that stuff though.

And protein. You need to be killing protein. Running whIle protein deficient will eat away your muscle tissue.

I just registered for the Desmond Doss 4 Bridges Half Marathon in Chattanooga on October 16th. A high school friend and I are going to run relay (6.5 miles each).
