The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

Why do you think this? Because I'm calling out a liar?

What do you think I'm arguing here? I can accept that the NFL is downward trending right now. I'm just saying don't lie. Do you have a problem with my position?

Bwa ha ha ha ha ha

Trending!??? phutt..it either is significant or is not significant.

I'd say if ticket sales continue as reported "trending" falls short of the correct conclusion that loss of revenue is already of "extreme statistical significance".

Here is a screen grab of what the crowd looked like midway through the 3d quarter (still the side facing the sun) and it looks to be about twice as full as the other image.

Looks about the same, the center is more filled and the right side is semi-empty on the right just like the other pic. That's the lower deck, everyone moves down whether they have the correct seat or not. :eek:lol:

I just need to know if you think I should be boycotting the NFL because they are racist? NAACP says I should be supporting the afro kid, what says you?

Only looks to be more full because it is such a blurry "screen grab"......nice try.....

Declining NFL television ratings will lower CBS earnings, according to Credit Suisse.

The firm cut its third-quarter EPS estimates by 5 percent, citing CBS' softer Sunday NFL ratings. The media company reports on Nov. 2.

"We expect third-quarter network advertising to decline 3 percent (previously +1 percent), driven by soft ratings for both the summer schedule and for the start of the NFL season," wrote Credit Suisse analyst Omar Sheikh. "With only one of the three content licensing deals we expected for the second half announced in third quarter, we also expect content licensing revenue growth to be skewed to the fourth quarter."

The analyst said CBS' Sunday NFL ratings are down 17 percent year over year during the first several weeks of the football season, according to the report. Sheikh released a similar report last week on Twenty-First Century Fox's earnings, which he also expects to disappoint thanks to weaker ratings by the NFL.

Why? Cause he exercised his first amendment rights?

You're right, Americans have the right to act like idiots. And CK has the right to have a girlfriend who is a Muslim (from Saudi Arabia, you know, the place where the 9/11 pilots came from), an activist, and an America-hater. She is also CK's adviser. All this "protest" is is a way to slap the US in the face, and to tear our flag apart thread-by-thread. And it's idiots like you who assist both CK, his girlfriend, and the rest of the Muslim world with your apathy.

This is as good an explanation as any others dealing with the topic of statistical significance.

Bucking the “Trend” and Approaching “Approaching Significance” - AMA Style Insider

..."If a study does not meet the significance criterion (for example, if the α level was set as < .05, and the P value for the finding was .08), authors sometimes describe the findings as “trending toward significance,” “having a trend toward significance,” “approaching significance,” “borderline significant,” or “nearly significant.” None of these terms is correct. Results do not trend toward significant—they either are or are not statistically significant based on the prespecified study assumptions. Similarly, the results do not include any movement and so cannot “approach” significance; and because of the dichotomous definition, “nearly significant” is no more meaningful than “nearly pregnant.”...

Even Credit Suisse is downgrading the NFL product as already posted.

I know what statistical significance is. Why are you talking about it to me? I'll explain again that I am not disputing the claims that the NFL is hurting right now. Do you think I'm somebody else?

It seems you are the one wanting to minimize empty seats and propagate your own lie. That being, that many -or most- of the photos showing lack of butts in stadiums are taken when many folk are just not in their seats for whatever reason.

I was going to provide a link, but there are too many not to search on your own, here...

"nfl ticket sales down"

But this one is telling:

What a surprise! Another picture taken at opening kickoff (this time well before game start) of the part of the crowd facing the sun.

What lie have I told? Please provide a quote. Calling out people for lying is not lying.

You're a sick puppy....might I recommend a good Animal Behavior PhD at UT Vet School?

The article says MNF was only down 3% in metered market results from this week last year. It didn't help that two huge sports markets were watching Astros/Yankees.
