Exactly the same.

What is the fundamental difference? The players, right or wrong, feel they are in a corrupt system. They feel their people are treated poorly. Who are we to determine how they should or shouldn’t feel and who are we to tell them how they can or cannot demonstrate their feelings? It’s peaceful and the only headache is causes is for those who think that their opinion is the only one that matters.

The players have a right to protest just as intelligent people have a right to accurately call them ignorant *******s and stop watching and contributing to their salaries.

The players aren’t the only people who can protest. They can speak their mind, so can others. You seem to think only the players opinions can matter.

It's not really a lie. He might be partially wrong about players not standing for the anthem but the US military is paying for these shows of patriotism and that is a recent development.

Either way, if the players were doing it willingly before 2009, that means they are in fact and always have been patriotic, for the most part, right?

It's like we have to create these stupid false dichotomies. You either do it the way I do it, or you're unpatriotic. You either support the cops or you hate them. You either sympathize with black lives matter or you despise them. The world is gray.

No, it’s black and white. The media perpetually reminds us of this. Oh, since I’m a middle-aged, white male from West TN, there’s a 95% certainty that I, or living family members, burn crosses...? Seems legit....

One is on the clock at work making 1/2 a mil or more the other can be gunned down at anytime.

Wait, so it’s only okay to peacefully protest if you’re about to be killed and aren’t making money?

The only one who would care about the fact that they’re “on the clock” would be their employer. If said employer doesn’t care, why should you?

No dip, I’m just saying the two are not remotely the same. The Iranian protestors are actually risking something. It doesn’t take balls to kneel in a stadium surrounded by security.

No one is talking about that. Trump wasn’t saying he likes the Iranian protestors because “it takes balls,” but because of peaceful protest and free speech.

He said “the govt should respect people’s right to express themselves,” not “the govt should respect them when they’re ballsy.” You’re revising his reasoning so he looks less hypocritical.

How did the government not respect the guys on their knees? They arrest them?

And I’m saying the two are not comparable.

How are they not comparable? Trump said peaceful protesters should be respected in their in how they express themselves. He's a total hypocrite. He called for their jobs and labeled them sons of *****es and rallied his stupid base against them. How is that not hypocritical?

Yeah, we have more freedom than Iran, but that doesn't make the two scenarios incomparable.

You guys will say anything to protect the guy skeeting garbage down your throats.
