Didn't read the article I see.
McCarthy said AMVETS was given a chance to amend their ad from Please Stand to other options, such as Please Honor Our Veterans or Please Stand for Our Veterans.
He noted an ad from Veterans of Foreign Wars was approved for the program. It reads, We Stand For Veterans.
Production on the programs was delayed while they awaited an answer from AMVETS, McCarthy said, and the NFL ultimately printed the programs without the ad in order to meet deadlines.
Very selectively quoted I see:
Which is why I included multiple links. I would expect smart people like yourself...
Never mind, I forgot who I was talking to. Anyway.
I would expect others to actually go to the links and read such information. But you are so caught up in making sure the NFL players can obviously express their opinions and completely missed how hypocritical the NFL is by not allowing others to express their own in a PAID advertisement.
The NFL is not the government, and so the First Amendment does not apply to this ad controversy. Having said that, I agree that if they meet the other criteria and pay for the ad time, then the NFL should run it.

I can't wait until the leftwing kneelers and the rightwing snowflakes get a real issue to focus on. Both sides are ridiculous right now.
Actually, my take on this has zero to do with the kneeling, but rather the NFL deciding to pick sides in that debate and call the ad "political" while ignoring the obvious political point their own players are making.
Here's the thing. It's extremely hypocritical to say "no, you can't take out a paid ad in the program because we believe it to be a political message" and turn around and say "our players are just invoking their 1st Amendment rights." Which they were also making a political message.
First and foremost, standing for the National Anthem, saluting the flag or cheering a military parade is not supporting the troops. If you think such trivial and superficial acts represent anything beyond lazy surface level virtue signaling youre a huge part of the problem. Your thoughtlessness and fake patriotism is exactly why our young kids are being sent off to die and murder other young kids halfway across the world to pad the coffers of plutocrats and the egos of empire obsessed sociopaths in D.C. Not only are such acts not patriotism, your phony gestures help grease the wheels of global death and destruction.
Superficial patriotism is the most attractive form of patriotism for any politician. It encourages spectacle without substance. Bluster without tangible success. Chest-thumping without sacrifice. Any big military parade in the U.S. will be a definitive sign of desperate insecurity and evidence that the American empire is expiring.
But on Sunday, Foster was arrested in Los Gato, California on suspected domestic violence and weapons charges. (Supposedly, he was also in possession of an assault rifle.) This isnt the first time hes been arrested, either. In fact, just this month, he was caught with marijuana in the state of Alabama, where thats still illegal. Niners Nation reported, Foster was arrested in Alabama for drug possession. If he had been in possession of marijuana in California, it would not have been a crime. His punishment? The NFL substance abuse program would suggest a fine, Niners Nation reported, but recent protocol on marijuana arrests has been one game.
So he had a weapon... where are you 2nd Amendment folks at? Had some reefer, also... yet another crime against humanity right there.
And lastly, this "suspected" domestic violence charge. Nah, we haven't seen this before... guilty until proven innocent when it comes to men vs rape or domestic abuse charges.
If anything, this just highlights the injustice that he allegedly took a knee for.
