The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

Has nothing to do with "the disrespect" and everything to do with brand and money.

Speak for the Eagles? If you watch the Cowboys All or Nothing series, you'll see a diversity of opinions and motivations. It seems pretty clear Jerry Jones felt strongly about respecting the flag and I don't think it came from a $ standpoint.

What's funny is the Cowboys kneeled to pray before the anthem as their sign of protest and solidarity, without hurting people's feelings about the flag, and the Arizona fans still booed them resoundingly.

For so many people, it's not about the flag. They are going to be mad, no matter why/how you protest.

What does my perceived anger over football viewership have to do with an cap?

AnCap being all about personal freedoms and all, and you seem to get really weird when someone says they won't be consuming a particular product because of the consumer's own personal convictions.

Just a weird stance is all.

The NFL ownership as a whole cares more about viewership or other money issues influenced by rocking the boat exponentially more than they care about respecting the Flag. Disclaimer.....JMO :)

Yep, they are private companies that can set rules for their employees.

Saw a few highly followed Twitter accounts (yeah I know) screeching about the 1st Amendment. All of their sheep follows suit with their misguided disgust that players are having their 1st Amendment rights trampled all over lol. Ignorance can be a very dangerous thing.

Getting "really weird", whatever that means, is not a violation of personal freedom.

It's really weird that you're trying to make this about an cap. It's almost like you don't have a good rebuttal, but you feel compelled to say something.

Yeah, that isn't how that works. Easy solution is what many college policies are: stay in the locker room and air grievances outside of the stadium.

Or quit if you really want to make a principled statement.

I don't get why they don't go back to the old procedure and just keep everybody in the locker room until after the anthem.

All for protesting when on your own time. Protesting at work is beyond stupid. When the uniform is on, and you're on the field, you're at work. At that point, teams have every right to tell you what you can and cannot do as a representative of their organization. If you really want to make a statement, quit. Don't sue the NFL claiming your rights were infringed or they colluded to keep you out of the league. I think Kaepernick's whole lawsuit is a joke.

Whatever you say, huff. This from the guy that had to weigh in on supposed amounts of butt hurt because someone won't watch the NFL. But by all means, be huff. I won't compete with you on being like you.

That's what you ended up with after an edit?

You're really investing this much energy in trying to pick an internet pissing contest from a passing remark? Really? Kind of sad, huff. Like i said, I'm trying to let it go so I'm not acting like you. If you need an apology to get on with the rest of your day, I will give it.

Jerry made it very clear who the Cowboys players and coaches work for. If you pull that crap while representing the Cowboys organization you’re done. Some griped but nobody tested it (that I’m aware of).

They know Jerry will cut them without a second thought. He's proven he ain't skeered of losing.
