I started to jump on his post as well, because on the surface it does look idiotic. But he has a point about the individual fan. He's picking fly **** out of pepper though, but he is correct. The league doesn't give a flying **** about you or me as individuals, but when the stadiums are empty, they take notice. When jersey sales are down, they notice... That's why 'organized' boycotts of any kind against any company are usually laughable because they know there will never be enough protesters to make any difference in the bottom line. And companies, in this case the NFL... don't care because they know it won't last. Fans will be flocking back in the fall. Clownperdick is gone and all but forgotten. The world is on its' correct axis once again for the NFL.
It would be forgotten, and forgiven in another year even if the NFL dindonuffin. guaranteed. To illustrate the psyche, how many people keep New Years resolutions?. Use that as a baseline. Remember the baseball strike in the 80s? Nobody else does either. At some point these fools will stand up on their own, and all this angst goes away. Then explain the need for the new rule.......I am a vendor the the NFL.....they are noticing the fans speaking with their wallet.......this new rule is the result.....it is very naive to think that this is a "non-issue"......

There is no way an OL that plays for the Vikings is paying more in taxes than an OL playing for Tampa Bay with the same salary, especially if they both live in a no tax state. If that is true, then they have some seriously overpaid accountants and tax attorneys working for the NFLAm I missing something?
He might choose the owner, but the rest is spot on.Owners want every available dollar they can get their hands on, and can't stand losing any of it. That's different from the league being in actual jeopardy over this. Owners want to expand to London even though it makes no logistical sense, because they want more money. Owners want to play on Thursdays even though it contradicts their "player safety" message, because they want more money.
If I go up to Roger Goodell and tell him it's me or Tom Brady, he's not choosing me. And he's not choosing an owner either.

I mean, I agree with you that it's a lot of money, and there are other occupations that provide more tangible benefits to society. But if that's the amount the public is willing to generate to watch them, then they earned it and (in some sense) deserve it. It mostly depends on how you define "deserve" though

Jimmy G....
1-10 with Kap..... started 1-10 next season.... pick up jimmy G when he starts they went 5-0.
I admittedly cant argue the logic in this. As long as enough people are willing to pay the amounts the owners need to propagate their eutopian society they arent going to change a damn thing. No reason to.
I remember when I was a young engineer during the week before it got unbearably hot and the Rangers were playing day games we could take off on a Wednesday afternoon head to the park and get some cheap bleacher seats at the last minute. Beers werent ridiculous. Then hit a sports bar on the way home and not break the bank. Now imagine a guy trying to take his two sons to a ballgame. Freaking ridiculous.
Yeah yeah. I know. Get off my lawn.
That is where he has a disconnect......without the owners RG has no job.....neither do the players.......without the fans, the owners shut it down.......
Right, but any one fan is replaceable and I'd say the owners are too. Jerry Richardson was accused of sexual harassment and sold his team already, because tons of people want to own a team. Big Ben was accused of rape (twice?) and the Steelers are begging him not to retire.
They were 1-10 with Kap, but it wasn't because of him. He actually had pretty good stats. 4:1 TD to INT ratio, and the other stats are solid too. The team was just terrible and the QB, as he always does, gets too much blame for losing.
2017 49ers were a pretty different squad. Only 23 players from the 2016 team were on the 2017 team....23.
The Yankees actually still have some $5-10 tickets, but everything else has gotten out of control. Hopefully the Falcons' cheap concessions model catches on.
