As we remember and honor our fallen military service members on Memorial Day, lets remember we should also honor the values they fought and died to defend, including the right to speak and protest whatever we perceive as unjust.

Hell, the distortions are so ubiquitous that it drowns out some of the facts. Hell, you probably still have people that think Kaepernick was protesting the troops or the flag instead of police violence.
Thats what he claims, but he was also supporting Fidel Castro which of course made anything he had to say null and void.
His protest had nothing to do with Castro. The Castro stuff was a separate thing. And he didnt say he supported Fidel. He said he admired their investment in education, which Cuba has some of the lowest illiteracy rates in the world, he admired their investment in Universal Health care, and that he admired their role in ending Apartheid in South America. He then said I do not support the oppressive things they have done.
