The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

Nixon won 4 of 11 states of the Confederacy in 1968, and 11 of 11 when running against the anti-war Hippie liberal party in 1972. George Wallace, who had always been a Democrat won 5 or 6 as an Independent in 68.

The acceptance of anti-war, anti-police movement of the dirty long hair hippie types cost the Dems greatly in the South in the late 60's early 70's. It was only partially about race.

Yep. Dinesh DeSousa interviewed someone and did a VERY good job debunking "the great switch" claim in "Hillary's America". It's revisionist history.

You might need to go back a little further and find out where the civil war posts started. It seems you are the one lost.

You're still confused. This doesn't change the fact that it was stupid for you to give me a lecture about living in the past when I'm not the one who brought the past up.

The fascination with how "Democrats" were racist in like 1950 is about the most focused-on-the-past thing ever

Unless their policies are still covert racism that simultaneously buys votes and keeps the minorities in city ghettos, helplessly on welfare and in generational poverty.

Where as the other actively tries to hold them back? I'd say they're fvcked either way. And really when you think about it, we are all pretty fvcked so maybe we've achieved racial equality.

I don't think he's a racist in the sense that he hates minorities, but I do think he has very prejudicial attitudes. Liberals have called people racist for a lot less than implying that a lot of illegal immigrants are rapists. It's not like Liberals just picked Trump and said "we're going to do him worse than we did Romney". Trump's asked for it.

I don't think Trump is a racist. He sees money, not skin color. However, I do think he knows exactly what he's doing by riling up his base with his aggressive and demeaning rhetoric. He's a race pimp, like many other politicians, that has carefully manipulated a whole lot of racists that are now flying his flag, even though he doesn't give two squirts of **** about them or their agenda.

I can agree with this. He did spend many years supporting Dem candidates so he learned well.

I agree.

Trump won because enough people are gullible and unthinking enough to view this tweet as even remotely approaching the reality of the issue.

Trump plays you guys like your idiots and it doesn't even seem to phase you. As soon as someone from the left hints that you may not be using your brain you go apocalyptic.

Do you ever tire of being wrong? You claim to be a bastion of knowledge, but your posts indicate otherwise. You sign off on an opinion (a bad one at that) and claim it to be de facto truth.

Trump won because of people like you. Americans, who had no voice, got tired of being pissed on and told it was rain. We’re not as dumb as you want us to be, doofer. It’s just a convenient excuse because the “Russia” angle is becoming more untenable and tenuous by the day.

Tick tock!

Are you serious with this nonsense? Tell me you are not this naive. The organizer specifically said the rally was held to unify the White Nationalist Movement in the US and was attended by neo-nazis, klansmen, white nationalists and white supremacists.

If you want to defend them, that's your business but we obviously now know where you stand.

What happened to 1st Amendment / free speech?

From the above Quinnipiac U poll.

..."Voters are clearly torn on the National Anthem issue. They seem to be saying, 'You can still love your country and kneel during its Anthem,' but the NFL's new 'must stand' mandate is fine with them, too," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll."...

Anyone can protest. It's just pick your place and time, ...sweetie.

Why do you or anyone else care what someone does for 2 mins when it has zero bearing on your daily life? It won't add or take money out of your pocket, nor is your freedom or well being in jeopardy.

Trump is the one who believes he can say "spy-gate" and people will believe it. It's Trump that thinks people will believe him when he says the news media is the enemy of the people. Trump thinks people are gullible enough that if he says "fake news" over and over people will stop believing real news. Trump is the one who thinks people will be conditioned when he says "Crooked Hillary". Trump thinks that by repeating "witch hunt" and "13 desperate democrats" people will actually turn against the Mueller investigation. That's what you should find offensive.

Trump was spied on by the Owebama administration , crooked Hilary is a crook and cnn is full of shlt. Mueller is on a witch hunt and most people are sick and tired of this charade, the message will ring loud and true come November for your party. Trumps approval numbers are rising almost as quickly as the gdp, not to mention his dominance on the world stage, what a ****ing difference a year and half makes !

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but before Kap started kneeling wasn't he wanting to be traded, then after not being traded he started kneeling. So basically all of this is because a player didn't want to be in San Fran and starts kneeling hoping that will get him on a different team?

Oh my.

Do you also think that all of the kneeling players across the league are also protesting Kap's anger over not being traded?

No. I think he was initially kneeling because he wanted out of SF and it snowballed into what's going on currently

Bingo. Not that some aren't sincere in their feelings, but it only started with him, and the "timing" of his protest.
