The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

This is just me, but if my protest is against how cops treat minorities, I'm taking it to the people I'm protesting against. Protest outside a police station, or a jail even. What does football have to do with it, and why do football fans need to be subjected to it? I totally understand the right to protest. At the same time, I totally understand my right to disagree or be offended by your protest. You can protest, but I shouldn't be held hostage by your protest. And before someone makes the stupid suggestion of just "leaving the game". If I've paid hundreds of dollars to go and watch a game, I should be able to watch said game without you forcing me to be part of your protest. Pick a different venue. Do it on your own time. You don't go to a game to see players espouse their political views.

Every protest "holds someone hostage" in that way. That's what makes it a protest.

They were wanting to use their platform. Nobody is going to give two ****s if they protest in front of a police station. They screwed up b they allowed their message to be highjacked.

Seems like everyone forgets the idea of a protest is to make people uncomfortable

Their own fan base?

So, if a group of folks, with no ill-intentions and are non-racist, wanted to deliver a message, it’d be perfectly acceptable for them to dress up in white bed sheets and march the streets of a predominantly black neighborhood, only to claim they’re protesting the price of silk in China?

This is how dumbass the argument has become.

But hey, protests are meant to make people uncomfortable, regardless of the venue, political platform, or audience. Your words!

Obama's victory resulted in people saying racist things about him and Trump's largely didn't.
Interesting that you find that offensive because the left was giddy with the fact that Obama was the first black president. Couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a media member talking about that. And you don't understand the racial overtones of Zero's presidency. Racism truly is a one way street.

I don't hate Christians nor post in really any of those threads. I do think it's funny that a group with a 75% majority claims that "everyone is attacking" them because they're no longer at 90%.
Sounds like the majority of the main stream media. Poor little ol' Fox News just abusing them.

Bump.

Funny that no one wants to touch this. I know, it’s hard to defend when the situation is illustratively tweaked, but still hammering the same message many are perpetuating (uncomfortable, platforms, 1A rights, audience, etc.).

Huff, if you want to argue, now is your chance. You may want to get it all out of your system before August anyway - - just a word of advice.

I'll take my chances. If you could just forward the addresses of some Victoria's Secret models, I'll start sending invitations.
I had a Milan trip years ago and there were a bunch of runway models in the back Trust me, they were not remotely impressive. Looks like you could break them in half. Anorexic and couldn't wait to get off (the airplane) and have a cigarette. Photography and airbrush artists do miracles.

You don't see this invitation to request pardons for victims of the CJS as a win? Seems like this is exactly the sort of thing they were after.

Are you asking what Kap's won from a self-interested perspective?
So the Eagles/Cavaliers/Warriors decide to NOT go to the one place where the conversation can be held and with the one person that actually has some power to accomplish their goals.

A bunch of spoiled ass *******.

Subjected? You act as though someone is putting your head in a vise.

According to a Fox News poll released on Thursday, the NFL’s net favorability rating comes in at 42%. Only former FBI Director Robert Mueller, Rudy Giuliani, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and Roseanne Barr, have lower favorability numbers.

The NFL’s lack of popularity stands out even more, when looking back at where the league was only five years ago. In October of 2013, the league had a 64% favorability rating. By October of 2017, those numbers had fallen to 46%, and now, to 42% Numbers which show a 22% decline in the league’s popularity in less than five years.

You just trolled yourself. Just like dressing up in white sheets in your example has nothing to do with the KKK, so it is with regards to the kneeling protests and the US military.

Subjected is a bit strong. That is what I'm referring to. A player taking a knee is not a traumatic or tortuous situation. You will live.

Ya I get that.
I just think it’s wasted breath. They get to feel better about themselves while not actually accomplishing anything. They’re talking a knee to highlight a problem that everyone is painfully aware exists.

Not once have I heard anyone of the protesters offer a solution.
