Doesn't change the fact that he's a celebrity. There are a lot of business people in entertainment who have a created a net worth similar to Trump without being born on 3rd base, and none of you would call them businessmen because you want to have it both ways.

Usually when people say this, they aren't mad everything has "gone political." Usually what they mean is that it has gone political in a direction they disagree with. If there was a celebrity/athlete out there constantly spouting political opinions, but you agreed with every single word they said, would you find it disgusting? I think we're wrong when we say that people don't care about celebrities opinions. I think people clearly do care, because it creates strong reactions one way or the other.

However, what celebrities do overestimate is their ability to actually change peoples' minds or create an outcome they want. I'm not sure a celebrity endorsement has changed the result of any election of any consequence.

Personally, I disagree. Regardless of the stance or point of view there is a time and place for politics...... to me I wish it was just like the Gramps off topic thread.
