The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

The thought process behind the "LeBron wouldn't survive the 90's" dumbassery is that he would...take hard fouls (because that's never happened before...)

And then just...leave the arena? Lmao it's so so dumb

Clutch those pearls, ladies
As someone who has given my entire adult life to the service of this country I would like to slap the ever loving **** out of him. However, if he wants to be a disrespectful pile of refuse he has that right. He was fortunate enough to be born in the greatest country in the world. So I am at an impasse.

A ton of players across multiple sports did it for 3-4 years, maybe longer. Do you just hate all of them?

He should have stayed out of Public eye, but he is an attention freak...

Hated it when he went to Lakers, Kobe would slap him for you if he was still alive....

There are far more important measures of a man than whether he stands for a song. I respect your position and like you as a poster, but this is a big nothing-burger for me. America has a lot of blood on its hands, so if blind pageantry isn't for someone, it doesn't bother me.

He could have played in any era. Bless your heart
I don't think he was referring to the ability/talent side of things. He was probably referring to the flop history, whining side of things. I would think most LeBron haters and supporters could agree on that.

Disagree. This is up there with the shopping cart test in my mind. At best, you're being a attention-seeking/selfish distraction to everyone by choosing to enter during the anthem.

Where there's smoke there's fire in the "measures of a man" department.

None of that would make him any less effective in any other era of NBA history, everyone should be able to agree on that but some people develop very stupid takes based on politics

That's a tired argument, every country has a lot of blood on their hands, the question is: did the blood get there from fighting for the right cause or not (I would argue that America throughout history has stood for what's right the majority of the time).

Lack of Patriotism is a major contributing factor to a lot of the lunacy we face as a society today.

We're also talking about a guy that won't stand for the National Anthem but won't condemn the Chinese committing genocide either because China lines his pockets well. That's a pretty sad example of a man.

I don't hate anyone. I think it is extraordinarily disrespectful to not stop what you are doing during the national anthem. Knowing what the 1% of men and women that actually serve in the armed forces give up to allow the rest of the nation to have the freedoms they have gives me a bit of a unique perspective maybe. Folks are perfectly within their rights to not stop and show respect, but I am also perfectly within my rights to call them out. Feel free to ignore me. That is perfectly within your rights.
