The Worst Firing In Sports History Was

Tom Landry and Jimmie Johnson firings were both bad firings. Jerry jones has his hands in that organization more than Steinbrenner ever did with the Yankees.

And for the record Pearl didn't do much more than what Saban is doing in Bammie. His downfall was he lied about it. Saban has been elusive with his answers.

Go Vols......

The only thing worse than firing Tom Landry would have been not firing Landry. Unless your goal is to lose football games, I don't see how you can look at the results and say that was the wrong decision.

Kornheiser from MNF.

Dooley.

Isiah Thomas. Anywhere, anytime.

Oh, wait. Nvm. Carry on, chaps.

That never happened, either.

The day Bill Curry was hired as the new Alabama football coach, someone called the university long distance from a phone booth in rural northwest Alabama and threatened to commit murder. Someone else called from a shopping mall in Haleyville, Ala., and repeated the message.A day after Curry was hired, the letters and telegrams started flooding the office of university President Joab Thomas, calling for his resignation, calling for Curry's immediate dismissal, calling for an investigation.

One guy called in a threat when Curry was hired. Curry stayed for three years. I can't imagine that the threat played into his decision to leave the school.

Probably not. IMO it had more to do with the reworking of his contract that took away his controll of his staff.

I still can't believe somebody actually said Larry Coker. As sad as it is, I'm not surprsied that people still wish Fulmer was here. Of course, he couldn't even get the Kansas job, but he would apparently still be winning here.

Not sure about the worst firing, but I can damn sure think of one of the best ones. Happened last November....😙

He would be better than these so-called replacements, excluding CBJ.

I love when posters show their age.

Curry had a very solid record at Bama. He just couldn't beat Auburn.

You're right, just trying to have at little fun Bama fans' expense. Trust me, age is not the issue here. Remember Curry well, always did and still do like the guy.
