The you don't want to get involved in this discussion thread (split)

I like biscuits and I hate mayonnaise. I don't like people who don't like biscuits and I don't trust people who like mayonnaise. So there's that

Like biscuits. Like mayonnaise.

Where do I stand? You like me but don't trust me?

I know I'm not going to change your mind and I won't try to but that sentence I highlighted just blows my mind that human beings in this day and age actually believe that. I don't know, it just seems like such a ridiculous and silly idea to me. Little beautiful babies are destined to burn in hell? Makes me laugh at the ridiculousness of such things.

But please, pray for me, I need all the help I can get! :)

I blame John Calvin. Bastard really took Christianity down a bad path.

Why would someone want to be gay considering all of the judgement and criticism that comes with it?

Real question this time.
Posted via VolNation Mobile

Why does someone want to kill countless number of people? No one knows why they choose to do that, but I don't believe that God would make someone gay. He hates gayness, the sin not the people. So why would he make one of his children do something he doesn't like on purpose?

that's odd. one of my friends sister is Gay and she said she got tired of her husband and started going to Gay bars with her friends and the next thing she knew she was wanting to be with women. She was straight for 28years and never seen herself with a woman. She never once blamed it on being born gay.
I don't care if people are gay or not. but to hear they are born that way is wrong and that is my opinion. People are not born a murder or a dope head etc... its a choice.

Just because your friends sister chose to be gay doesn't mean all gays do. I didn't say someone can't choose to be gay. I said the gays I know were born that way. And I'm sure that most gays will say they were born that way. Many parents of a gay child say they could tell at a very young age their child was likely gay. Just because you haven't seen if with your own eyes or your friends sister situation doesn't mean it's not true.

It sounds ridiculous to me too and I can't explain it, but I believe the Bible and that's what it says. It also says God created the universe in 7 days and Jesus was 100% God and 100% human. Explain those because I certainly can't. I'll just have to ask the big man when I get there ha.

This entire thread blew up because I just said I dot want to watch a gay man play football. This wasn't based on my religion or political views.

Knoxvillian & volprof, I enjoyed the exchange. I've never come here for religious or political debate. This was the first time. Thanks for entertaining my views, and my intentions aren't to be aguementive. As a Christian, I'm not called to win arguments for Christ. I hope I've shared a few thing for you to chew on.

Now, back to the recruiting forum where I look forward to discussing Vols football with you two.

Was gonna try to Spider-man the hell out of this thread with this quote...

Ok well since this has turned into a giant religious debate then we should all remember, the bible says "let he who is without sin cast the first stone", or to simplify it, in the words of the late Tupac Shakur "Only God Can Judge Me".

Whether its a Sin or not its not your problem, if it is a sin then its his problem and you shouldn't judge him for it. And if you don't believe in whatever religion and still think its wrong, well again, its his choice, has no effect on you and you really shouldn't care or let it bother you. The only way it effects you or bothers you is because you are choosing to allow it too, not because he made you read this and is continuing to make you pay attention to his situation.

He's Gay, I'm not, you're whatever you are and the world has not ended and is continuing as it has for millions, if not billions of years.

In other words, he's a human being with far more power.

He's far more than a human being. And as far as choosing to be gay, people do choose to be homosexual or heterosexual every single day. What we cannot control are the feelings that drive us to make those choices. People choose to be gay because they have a burning desire to be with the same sex. I know married people also have burning desires and feelings to cheat on their spouses when some good looking person presents themselves. Just because the desire is there doesn't mean you get a free pass and can just indulge yourself in it. And just because you are gay does not mean you should be treated any differently or that God loves you any less. God can still do amazing work through hetero or homosexual people. It is a sin, but it's no worse of a sin than someone that cops a lustful look at a stranger walking down the street. It isn't our place to judge anyone as we each have enough sin on our own plates to resist, and should pursue our own paths of righteousness.

No I am not saying that, God does! I am saying I am a Christian because Jesus died on the cross for my sins and I humbled myself, confessed my sins, and asked him to come into my heart! It's not about hell it's all about love!

I've just never understood the whole " if I'm right if you're right" argument. It basically casts belief in Christianity as a risk reduction technique.

Whoever said babies would go to hell? That's not in the Bible. There is an age of innocence.

Ok, done here now

They are gay it's not a sinful desire. It's what they are. You just compared being gay to you not cheating on your spouse. Please...

Is that right? There always seems to be some loophole in religion. People tend to pick and choose what to focus on to fit their argument or belief. :shrugs:

Drug addicts don't apply

But there are many murderers that are born "sick". Their brains don't work like ours. Not all, but some.

Charles Whitman had a brain tumor that attributed to his killing spree. Just an example.

Money has nothing to do with this moron. You just want to tread over everybody else's right so one homesexual can walk around strutting his stuff in everybodys face. If he is gay so be it but understand men arent allowed to go into womans changing rooms for obvious reasons. Whats the difference.

I really hope I don't have to explain the difference between men and women to you. And I certainly hope you don't think there aren't any gay players in the NFL, because that is clearly not the case. And if you think money was the main point of my post, then it completely went over your head. But let me help you out. Professional football players are just that. Professionals. If they are freaked out by the thought of gay men looking at them in the shower, then they can forego their chosen profession and do something else that doesn't involve showering with other men. Because someone is gay does not make them incapable of acting professionally around their colleagues. Why does that not compute with you?
